Do we really earn anything in Destiny?

For those that are too lazy to read, there is a spoiler below summarizing this post essentially. Why do people say you have no skill because they earned something, but you didn't for (insert reason here)? Let me list multiple instances. For instance, say you and your friend are playing a Nightfall. He gets the exotic you wanted, say Thunderlord for example. So both of you are cheering. Xûr then sells Thunderlord the day after. You decide to buy it, and he calls you a "filthy scrub" for doing so. He also goes around telling everyone you have no skill because you bought an item from xur. Technically, in Destiny when it comes to most things, you don't actually earn jack sh*t. It's all RNG. So it's just your luck you were given it, but by no means did you earn that whatsoever. Only thing you can actually "earn" for gear is Iron Banner gear and Tower Vendor gear. Besides that, it's pure RNG. And on a side note going back to the subject of Xur, they're also earning the exotics they purchased. (somewhat at least) They earned the strange coins didn't they? Also, one thing I never understood: Why does earning Iron Banner armor make you a "Fake 32?" People say "oh you're a pussy because you just got that armor so that you don't have to earn anything from raids, because you're trash at the game and can't do raids." Like I said before, you don't earn shit from raids, it's all random drops based off RNG, not earning anything at all. Although in iron banner, the armor isn't obtained through RNG, it's obtained from ranking up in iron banner. Which if you're not the best PvP player, is very difficult. Now those are things you're earning. So wouldn't it make sense to call people who get raid armor as random drops to be fake 32's? Although, in conclusion, we shouldn't call anyone a "Fake 32", were all just obtaining our gear in different ways. Just because you got something from a raid, and someone else obtained the exact same thing by different means, does not make you better than them in any way at all. That just makes you sound like an asshole. Does anyone else agree with me on this? What do you think about this subject? Is there such thing as a fake 32? Is "xurned" an idiotic term? Does anybody even care? Summary for those who are too lazy to read a couple paragraphs is in the spoiler below.
I'll summarize it here for people who don't want to read all that I wrote. You don't earn most things in destiny, it's mainly all RNG. No such thing as a fake level 32. You don't deserve anything in the game more than anybody else. Now discuss your thoughts on all of this.
• Playing three weeklies to get a gun is easy. But so is holding down square for half a second in front of a chest. However probably some work was required to reach that chest. I feel that both are earned. The only thing that's not earned imho is when people get a gorgon cp from a friend and get an exotic with out ever killing a single enemy.

you CANNOT earn something in an RNG game. There some exceptions. Any xur items, any vendor items, any exotic bounty weapons, and the strangers rifle. Those are the only thing you "earn" in this game. Everything else is random.

      • Earning something is when the amount of effort you put into an activity directly effects your chances of getting a reward for completing said activity. For example, in a job setting if you do your job very well, consistently, you'll have a better chance at getting a raise or promotion. As the employee, you put in a lot of effort which directly affected your chance of getting rewarded for your work. That's earning something. In destiny almost nothing, if anything at all, works this way. It does not matter how well you perform in or how much effort you put into raids/strikes/crucible/etc., drop rates are not affected. Everyone has the same drop rates and no amount of grinding or wishful thinking can change that. Because your effort does not directly affect the likelihood of getting a drop, you aren't earning that drop. Bungie has just made a game that presents the illusion that effort matters. But it doesn't. You can get ghorn after 1000 hours or after 12. In the end it all comes down to RNG.

          • Buying it from xur actually takes more skill because you have to do the weeklies to get coins....
