I've played a reasonable amount of crucible and noticed that the rng is particularly flawed as it awards barely applicable team members with better rewards than the better players , if the rng stays the way it is for any team members excluding the top three, and significantly increased chances of the better gear for the top three, it would be a much better and more competitive environment :) thanks in advance team bungie

And adjust RNG based on the medals you get while competing. An Unbroken medal deserves an Exotic every time.
-
The reason Bungie did this is so that people wouldn't quit mid-game. It makes sense but I think they could do it in a better way. Sort of like LoL does they could ban you from playing another game of crucible for a certain amount of time
-
I finished top on my team once in a control win and got a Thunderlord. So good rewards don't always go to the players that played bad. It should stay rng.
-
Destiny 4 will get it right... let's hope by then at least.

Edited by hiltonkush: 3/30/2015 5:46:09 PMOne guy already pointed it out. Look at it like this, if you're a kid, you're not very good at video games and you go into crucible. You get killed 30 times, kill one person, and then you get no reward. A child, would most likely just play something else instead of trying to get better. By rewarding players of all skill level it's gives weaker players the incentive to continue to play and buy more. This is bungies goal, they don't give a shit about us veteran's, they want to hook the kids so that they grow up with the franchise. That's why this game is designed the way it is, go to point A and protect dinklebot from enemies. Easy and boring for a veteran but exciting for a child because they can do it. Face it, the game was aimed towards a younger audience (note the T rating) so they will never make it for mature people. Maybe once number 3 comes out in a few years they can add some complexity because those that bought number one would have aged 4-6 years. We won't know until it's released. So in terms of your request, the game has been simplified for a reason and bungie does not intent to change it.

No it wouldn't. You'd get a situation like Iron Banner 1.0, where you'd have people quitting matches en masse. Which is what people did in reaction to Bungie's "winner take all, and loser gets nothing" approach to reputation for the First Iron Banner. 1. You'd create a situation where its in the best intrests of someone having a bad match to simply QUIT and find another one, rather than finish out the one they are playing. 2. You'd create a situation where the "rich" would get richer, and hte "poor" would quickly be rendered unable to compete. That's why sports leagues always have the previous teams BEST teams draft LAST, so you maintain some competitive balance. Unlike college sports where you just get a handful of dominant schools/teams every year....because they get all the best recruits each year.

Bad idea. Whatever happened to playing games for fun? Who cares about k/d. It's great that there are some awesome gamers out there. But you can't alienate players just because they as good.
-
I agree it should be changed. The nest player's should get something guaranteed.

Edited by xitsNatex: 3/31/2015 12:17:34 PMIf only Bungie cared this game would be amazing

Agreed

This'll never happen. The community has fought against Bungie on this to no avail. The only good solution would be to give everyone loot at the end of every match. But then you'd drown in engrams and junk making blue item's seem worthless. But it's better than getting nothing at all. This game depends too much on RNG. And unlike borderlands where the randomly generated loot is still badass, the randomly generated loot is just lame in Destiny because the majority of weapons in this game are forgettable unless they're purple or yellow drops.

I don't expect much from crucible, but can I at least get a level up bar, or something to work towards, it doesn't even have to mean anything and it doesn't have to be applied to PVE either, I just want to feel like I'm working towards a certain goal besides just 3 marks

welcome to America. This is actually NOT India. But you may call us Indians.
-
Sure and watch the lag switchers make the game even more unplayable
-
Edited by Romney57: 3/30/2015 6:56:08 PMSo all those unaffected by lag get the good stuff as well as a massive advantage over players like me who can point blank shotgun a person 3 times and they turn around and shoot me once with the same Two to the Morgue - I die, they run off with most of their health intact and get all the goodies at the end !!! Yeah!! that seems really fair to me.........NOT !!!
-
Don't think that's the way RNG works. LOL
-
I think we all agree with you on this one. Drives me nuts to see the lowest performing players rewarded with the only/best drops. Your chances should absolutely increase as you climb the scoreboard.
-
Edited by GHOSTfartz: 3/30/2015 11:11:17 PMYeah I agree. I've had some awful games where I'm the only one who gets something. Don't feel like I earned or deserved it. Actually feel like it highlights the fact more that I blew.
-
Agreed. I should get rewarded for being ad awesome as I am. I never get anything quality from PvP.
-
You can't do this, because then people actually end up getting rewarded for skill. That means people who suck never get anything. That wouldn't be fair.
-
Tell me about it. I ran a vanguard roc strike (Phogoth) where a teammate made it to the boss, ran out, took a right, plopped down by a barricade and died. I revived the random, who then did nothing and died, again. I did this five times. Was the last guardian standing four times. Had something like 115 kills to my teammates 45 and 30 (this being the random who died). I even dropped Phogoth as the last land standing. Guess what? The random who spent the boss fight as an orb got TLW. I got blue boots and a hunter helm (as a warlock). Lame.

Bungie said themselves the reason the RNG allows all payers with a chance of good drops is to promote all the players, even bad ones, to stay for the entire activity, not just the "winners" staying. It will never change, kid.
