How the hell do you use a warlock in pvp?
As someone who has used both hunters and titans in pvp, how do you use a warlock because to me right now, they suck. Advice welcome.
Edit: Thank you for the costructive comments for those that actually gave advice. I'll try to apply it.
Edit: Definitely having better results after switching up some of my abilities as recommended. Starting to now understand the danger a warlock brings to a match, especially after lobbing a nova bomb super from practically one control point to another.

Well, if you can get Sunsinger active (Just do the bounties and level it up with a few millions of exp at a time) and up to Fireborn, I'd have a few pointers. Like using Universal Remote and Felwinter's Lie/Swordbreaker and running around that way. Whenever you die, don't Res instantly. Look around and find a nearby opponent. If you can Res directly behind an enemy, it's all the better. Fusion grenades, dual grenades, radiance active longer, flame shield, and max agility are the best possible perk sets to have. For the jump, always Focused Burst. It saves your life. If you'll be going Voidwalker for a while yet, here's a paragraph for that. Nova Bomb with either Lance or Vortex upgrades, depending on which suits you best. For Lance: Angry Magic, and Embrace the Void. For Vortex: Annihilate, and Bloom. For either one, whichever grenade floats your boat, max agility, and Surge. For the jump, either Blink or Focused Burst, depending on which you can put into action more effectively. Can't say what guns do the best here, as I never really go Void, but generally I use Thorn and Swordbreaker.

Strategy A: HotPF + "Grenades ignite foes" + "Ignite last longer" + FireBolt grenade + "Increased toughness while Radiance is active" = Unstoppable instant-hit grenade frenzy that's garanteed to net you multiple kills. (Most effective in Control) Strategy B: Voidfang Vestments + "Carry two grenades" + Fusion grenade + Fireborn = Respawn with two (possible) garanteed instant-kill. (Incredibly effective in Rumble) Strategy C: Apotheosis Veil + "Vortex effect last longer" + "Increased blast radius" + Vortex grenade + Vortex Nova Bomb = Decent Voidwalker build for Objective-based games. The vortex does a great job at catching ennemies off guard. (Make sure to throw your grenades where ennemies are likely to go take cover, avoid throwing it right in the middle of any zone since people rarely stay there)

I actually find Warlocks to be the most powerful PvP class. Radiance Skin, Fusion Grenades, Best Class Melee and Axion Bolt.

You can't play a Warlock with any other class' playstyle in mind, it tends to defy the design patterns shared between Hunter and Titan. Just the appearance of the raid armor sets is a good example of this. If you play Warlock with a more tactical approach in mind you'll probably have an easier time with it.

1 ReplyIf you're an auto rifle/shotgun guy, here's the build: Monte Carlo Any shotgun, but Felwinter's Lie works best. Try to find something with Quickdraw. Exotic Armor: Claws of Ahamkara. These give an extra melee charge, and are the focus of the build. Perks: The only ones essential are Firebolt Grenade, Viking Funeral, Touch of Flame. On Control, I prefer Fireborn, but in other gametypes, Radiant Skin might be better. Also, try to get your recovery as high as it'll go, and find armor that ups your Strength. Here's how it works: Flame shield is a great perk in itself, but get two of them and you'll never ever lose a melee trade. Add in any long distance kills you get with Monte Carlo (which also charges your melee insanely quick and has a chance to proc an immediate recharge of your melee) and you won't EVER be without your flame shield. The Shotgun is important because it's really the only thing you'll run into that'll have a chance at taking out both your shields and killing you. Shoot him first. I've used this build for a while, but I've seen it used by others to amazing effect. NOTHING will take zones from you in Control. Period. If they manage to kill you, odds are they'll have to deal with you again, and when you radiance, you have your melees back immediately. Why I don't personally use Voidwalker PVP: When done correctly, the above build nets you wayyy more kills than blink and the occasional panic bomb. Also, I've run the Obsidian Mind/Bad Juju AFTER the pulse rifle buff in PvP. Doesn't work as well as in PvE.

Using voidwalker in control is good. Axion bolt is very effective and if you place a nova bomb at the right zone you can easily get triple kills. For perks I would recommend: axion bolt blink if you're good with it, otherwise speed Vortex on your nova bomb Surge or maybe life steal (it's not as often that you get a kill, so with surge you would have it more often)

5 RepliesI use sunsinger with bad juju and heart of praxxic fire, on control or salvage the idea is to bombard the enemy with the grenade that hits 3 people. Or just self res and do the same plan.

Nova bomb is used like fist of havoc just from a longer range. You can throw nova bomb from point c to b on rusted lands. Radiant skin will give you an over shield so you can survive 1 golden gun shot and 1 arc blade

Scotch, self Rez, and..... You get a fusion grenade, you get a fusion grenade, everyone gets a fusion grenade!!!! I love the Sunsinger for pvp. Fusion grenades are pretty much plasma grenades that have a small tracking area. If you get stuck your dead. Unless you have an over shield. When you self Rez your mele will one hit enemies, then you can throw more grenades. OP as heck and I love every second of it. For weapons I go with red death, a fusion/shotgun/ and that machine gun on my warlock. The rolls make it op.

Hawkmoon, heart of praxic Fire, corrective measure and a felwinters lie. Put on radiant skin and throw fusion grenades at whatever you see. You also have increased Damage resistance so shoot everything with shotgun, you will end up giving your team heaps of orbs and get a nice score on the leaderboards. I did this and got a 35 kd on iron banner
