Are you having fun in the crucible?
I think that people just need to get over the fact that they are going to die in pvp. There are so many ways you can die like supers, grenades, melee, snipers, shotguns, gunfights against multiple guardians, and heavy ammo.
It is gonna happen. Get over it!
You have to roll with the punches, accept that you are not immortal.. respawn learn from your mistakes or tip your cap because you get out played. Learn what fights you can come out on top and what fights to avoid. With this attitude you will gain experience and knowledge about the game instead of raging like a 2 year old.
So the moral of the story is to develop your play style, figure out what you are good at and find a class and weapons that best compliments your style. If you join a match and you are getting smashed change your weapon set up or change your play style. Maybe take it slower be less aggressive or just the opposite. Getting killed is a part of the game let it go and make an adjustment.

1 ReplyWhat makes me mad in crucible is the lag and some guns. Shooting someone and they just turn around and 2 shots you with thorn for example is just annoying as hell. But apart from that, it is how it is. Dont mind that i die, am not on the winning team or what ever. I play it for fun. I am not the best at it, but still decent. Mostly play iron banner for crucible tho.

The guns are too unbalanced, just like every other "modern" competitive fps.

No - I don't enjoy PvP. Not for any of the reasons you mention. How about player and clan ranking? KZ2 did it 5 years ago. Private matches and custom matches too? How about dedicated servers for PvP? The foundation is just fine, but clearly Bungie included as a necessity for the market, not as a long term viable game mode. ...and I have all of the exotic bounty weapon (including Thorn), Hawkmoon and a 32 Titan in Iron Banner gear with a decent K/D. I desperately want to enjoy it, but 5 minutes with a 60FPS, dedicated server game like Hardline showcases how weak Destiny's PvP is (and Hardline kind of blows).

I only play Crucible with No Land Beyond now. It's the only gun that takes skill and I love shitting on kids with it. Absolutely my favorite gun. I love getting messages from kids saying how I was incredible with it too. Makes my day. THAT'S SKILLFUL.

Crucible brings out my bad side, I love it when I'm humping the other team but I despise it when I'm the humped. One particular moment was earlier today when a Thorn user killed and teabagged me. Who the hell teabags because they got a kill with a 2HK weapon? Overall though my team utterly dumped on theirs and that guy ended up quitting halfway in. Felt good.

Hate the lag, I have 100down 30 up and I experience people lagging all the time. Bungie needs to fix their shitty network setup

Indeed a lot off people seem to dislike Crucible but once you get the hang off it it's a nice section off this game. Just try it is all i have to say maybe get a friend to go into crucible with you and get some competition up between you guys. It's really fun, some matches are a pain in the ass. But others are some pvp moments you won't forget :D

I only play Crucible during Iron Banner events but I used to enjoy it. However this past week's IB was a disaster. The so-called weapon balancing update has made the flaws and unbalanced aspects of this game even more apparent. Nobody uses Auto Rifles anymore because they're outclassed by everything else now. That means some players quit using their primary weapons completely and have resorted to camping with a shotgun or sniper. Now everyone uses weapons capable of 1 or 2 shot kills. That means the time to kill is now lower than ever and in my opinion that's not what Destiny should be like. It was more fun when the shootouts lasted longer. I play other shooters that are fast paced with short kill times and that can be fun too but I liked Destiny more before the recent weapon update. I liked that the kill times were similar to that of a Halo game. It takes several headshots with a Scout Rifle or Pulse Rifle to kill someone which reminds me of using a DMR or BR in Halo. But when people use some of the top tier exotics in Crucible, the time to kill is cut in half compared to the lower tier weapons. Bungie said they looked at the kill times of all primary weapons and tried to balance the weapons based on that. The problem with that is weapons designed for different situations can't all have the same kill times. For example, Scout rifles are meant for long range engagements so the rate of fire is inherently low, which is a disadvantage in close quarters. The time to kill for every other primary weapon type is faster in close quarters. But from a distance nothing can compete with a scout rifle. However Handcannons still have great range even after the recent patch. But Handcannons are also amazing in close quarters and medium range engagements. So they're clearly the most rounded weapon type in the Crucible given the size of the maps. Auto rifles used to be the most well rounded but now they're almost useless in Crucible. The point is that the weapon update really created more imbalance than it fixed, and in the process it took a lot of the fun out of the Crucible for me.

Not really, there's too many one hit weapons and BS builts a that break it completely. I'm only playing to get rank 2 and that's it.

Yes I am! I've actually begun to enjoy Sunsinging in crucible. I feel much more capable in 1v1 situations which suits my preferred playlist: rumble. The FFA is a lot of fun. With some dedicated servers instead of this janky-pseudo-P2P, and private matchmaking with custom playlists for serious competitive play, I think the PVP in destiny could be a much bigger factor moving forward.

I only enjoy it in small bursts. iron banner drains me for when I play it but I got a month break last month and just turned up this time. but I couldn't play it all the time no.

I downright HATED crucible. Then I started doing the TDB Control instead of the standard. I have to say I am having alot more fun now! The new maps are actually Fun to play . I wish they would add them into the normal playlist....but, I know why they don't/won't.

Edited by Terminalfury46: 3/28/2015 9:24:26 PMmy biggest problem isnt with dying, its the terrible lag infested servers we have to play on, ive seen as much as a full two second delay in some matches. i thought id pvp mid day yesterday and i actually said "maybe it wont be that bad since its the middle of the week." first match, no lag hooray! next three it just seemed to get worse and worse. no matter what game ive played, ive been drawn to the pvp side. all this game does is push me away from it.

Hell yes. It's awesome fun! And different game modes with bounties keeps it fresh O and Thorn is just brutal.

I had this long stretch where I would almost break my controller when I got blink-shotted or final round-ed. Then I realized something amazing. [i]It's not going to stop.[/i] So I decided not to get mad and also to blink towards blink shotters. I am content.
