Learning to parry za warudo in Dank Sauce 2, helpful advice?

I've been getting into the thought of parrying because I really want to improve myself in dark souls 2. I mean, I can do pretty well, but parrying is just one of those things I need to take down people camping beyond giant ass shields like the tower shield or havel's greatshield. I have been seeing some success yesterday running the buckler shield as I did manage to maybe get 4 successful parries, but I really want to get better at it. Any helpful advice to git gud at PvP parries? Btw, I know about the backsteb to parry trick and the parry on the 2nd swing trick, but I'm just looking for advice for timing the parry or what I should use to parry with. Thanks.

  • There are more advanced methods I've learned but the most successful that I know of is to backstep parry or to throw out a jumping attack, miss intentionally then parry.

  • You could try pvping with a friend and practice parrying each other. I am going through a whole playthrough trying to kill every mob with just the parrying. If that doesn't improve my timing, i don't know what will.

  • The buckler is one of the better choices, but most small and medium shields are viable options. Another option you have for people hiding behind shields is the guard break.
