Not when they stay in the room just before the shrieker. Additionally when the shrieker de-spawns so do the additional enemies. I would rather have someone camp back there (and not cause the shrieker to spawn) than die out in the open and force me to choose whether I risk dying or just keep shooting enemies. If someone chooses to rush into the middle of the pack and dies frequently it makes the strike more difficult and take longer for the others. I revive when I can but after a while I will stop. They can chill for 30 seconds or longer.

In a roc phogoth strike usually you can survive if you are 27+ and stay on the move. Nightfall a totally different story. When I do rocs I just want to grind through then quickly

Yes, I'm aware. But, some players just aren't as skilled as others. Some players prefer a safer route. I don't mind as long as they contribute and don't place a burden on the rest of the team. I personally hate dying in any part of the game. A player on the ledge or cliff in everything he mentioned except for Phogoth contributes more damage to the boss and takes less from adds than the guy running around with a shotgun. If people want everyone to play to their style only, they should bring their like minded friends.
