Lag Switchers still a problem (video)
If you notice the scoreboards (I actually can't remember whether they appear in this video lol) you will notice that I have a green bar connection and this guy has a complete grey to red bar.
He was the only player in the match I couldn't kill, every other player did not lagg and were killed with no problems.
I hate it when people bitch when you discuss lagg switchers and the scrubs say shit like "get good, stop crying and get good at crucible".

EDIT: Before commenting, google lag switching and take note of the connection bars of players in the scoreboards.

1 Reply3 upvotes, 8 down votes on your video reflect the common consensus that you're mislabelling lag as lag switching. Destiny has the laggiest pvp I've ever played, bar none. I've played CoD since WaW (previous most laggy champ) and haven't seen anything close to this laggy before. Ask yourself which is more likely: Is it more likely that a sudden influx of lag switchers decided to take advantage of a small player pool in a PvE - based game with no competitive playlists and no MLG? OR Is it more likely that Destiny's net code is subpar and getting into a laggy match is a common occurrence and causes issues for most players?

What you just posted was obviously not network manipulation of any kind. I hate to break it to you, but you can die, and it not be because every person you face in the Crucible is cheating. I haven't experienced this many people utilizing lag switches (or standby, as it used to be called) since halo 2. It's quite annoying. It's probably the same damn people that did it in halo 2, and once they realised that it worked for Destiny they just went for it.

I'm thinking of making a video comp of all the times people have lag switched in crucible. I make Xbox record it. This has become a serious problem and if it becomes an issue in iron banner I'll be pissed...

It's called kids piggybacking off of their neighbors already shitty connection (or something of the sort.) Actual lag switches are extremely uncommon, and it's silly to assume it immediately. I've encountered invincible people in crucible, but I don't call lag switch on them; I just realize they have bad internet speed/live out of the country.

4 RepliesBeen pvping for a long time in this game and never had such a problem with 'lag switchers'. Yeah the lag is ridiculous at times but I've never lost just because of lag therefore I won't ever make a forum post about it. Also just because he might be the only one lagging doesn't mean he's using a switch. Not everyone who lags in any game is using some sort of switch to make it so people can't kill them. Believe it or not people still play on shit Internet or are very far from their tower. Won't tell you too get good but will tell you too stop being a bitch and posting it on the forums because it makes you look stupid. Complaining about lag (intentional or not) is the most idiotic thing to complain about in a multiplayer based game.

3 RepliesThe possibility of induced lag via a switch break is not the most common cause of concern for me. The BIGGEST problem is the absence of dedicated servers and ping limits or region locks (if not present). While I don't profess to know all the ins and outs of their system, I do know that RED BAR players cause absolute hell for me in pvp. It's the reason I can't take pvp seriously in this game. Not that I'm a great solo pvp player to begin with. I usually prefer to run with a squad in pvp games, but I have no clan or team in Destiny as nobody I know likes the pvp in thus game.

9 RepliesThere might be something els wrong with the Crusible servers. I have a 200m/bit down, and 50m/bit up connection. its one of the fastest in the Netherlands. And the Netherlands is know for its outstanding internet connections (look it up, its true) Yet, yesterday my connection indicator was red, all the time, i bailed the server and tried it again, and again red. It looked like they hooked me up with people form Australia or something. Also did a network test, and everything was fine. My NAT is also open. No cleu what is wrong, but it doesn't have to be the guy it self, it can be he got connected with a server on the other side of the world. That is not his mistake..

The crate didnt spawn. There were 3 of us standing there expecting to grab it. While we are trying to figure out what was going on, we get destroyed by a ghorn. About five minutes later i here over my mic, " hey guys, the heavy ammo bricks are laying over here on the ground now", a full five minutes after it was supposed to have spawned it finally showed up. We ended up losing that match. Never experienced that particular glitch before. The one were the chest wont open, yeah, but never where it just didnt spawn when it was supposed too.

Trying to play PvP the last few days has been almost unbearable. The amount of lag, whether people with shitty connections or real lag switchers has been rampant in every single match as of late. Players walking into walls, skipping across the screen, not dying to supers and suddenly getting the kill after the fact.... something needs to be done about the servers or lag switchers. At the very least, it should NOT give the shitty connections the upper hand. This is ridiculous.

If I don't finally get my damn raid boots for my hunter tomorrow, I'm gonna have to deal with these while fućking with Iron Banner. I played ONE match on rusted lands in the last event and a titan was doing this. Let it be known there was a lot of yelling and cussing when he was lag switching on a control point, then out of nowhere FoH'd all of our teammates around him trying to kill him. I don't understand why people feel like they need to affect the gameplay of others for their own sake of bullshit happiness. Best part of it all ? Bungie doesn't give the slightest shit about it
