The Destroyer from Borderlands. What made it intense was the fact that I was alone and I ran out of ammo near the end. I finished the fight with a white quality revolver I picked up on the way in.

The Griffon from the start of Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. After doing every contract in the game, that one was still the hardest.
may not have been the best plan to pick up the series on its third game and immediately start my first playthrough on the hardest difficulty, but it worked out.
I'm a very big souls fan, but I'm an xbox player. Because of this I was rather envious of PS4 users because they got Bloodborne. So after saving up a couple paycheck a and buying my PS4 I was pretty stoked to be playing it for the first time. When I seen the opening to the Tomb of Oeden, I felt goosebumps. I knew this was gonna be a boss. I entered and I seen his axe pull up and swing, splattering blood in the air. "Beasts all over the shop". I felt a cool feeling run over my body. The fight began, Father Gascoigne was his name. This fight was intense, fast paced, and punishing. This fight was the reason I was playing this game.
