Why do people care if you buy weapons from Xur. Edit: Thank you for all the positive feed back some how this is trending.
It's really no big deal to the masses. Unfortunately there's a minority group that lives in a constant state of full retardation, and even more unfortunate...they're the vocal majority. Pay no attention to it.

To the people who say you should earn your exotics... You also have to earn the strange coins to buy things from xur
-
Nothing wrong with buying from xur
-
Bc your not good if u xurn your only good if you earn. Now got #gitgud newb
-
It's not bad at all. Don't worry about Rngesus worshippers
-
People care bcos they think they are the RNGsus' chosen snowflakes ;)
-
It's not. Just elitists being retarded.
-
It's not bad besides how will people ever know how you obtain a weapon?
-
It's not, do what you want. Or don't if you don't.
-
It's a part of the game, how can anyone think it's bad to use coins earned in weekly strikes to buy from xur. Seems like the only true way to earn a weapon or armor
-
Edited by TheTechnician9: 4/24/2015 9:16:27 PMIt's not bad and everyone has done it. People on this game are selfish babies.
-
Because people are stuck up.
-
Its not. Its just that people like me like to have an exotic that no one else has, and then we dont feel special when xur sells it cuz everyone has it.
-
I see no harm in Xur selling exotics and still can't wrap my head around why anyone has an issue with it but to each his own I guess... I myself only buy exotics from Xur when it's something that has a must have ability like Red Death's healing ability for example. I let all others slip on by in hopes that I will one day be blessed by RNGesus. For me at least, this greatly increases my drive to continue playing. I laugh at those that constantly buy from Xur only to later complain there is no point in playing anymore because the have all the exotics.
-
No one actually cares. It's a pointless conversation with no end because we have no operational definition for what is 'fair' or what is 'earned'.
Chill with the edits OP.
Edited by xXxClassyGitxXx: 4/23/2015 8:21:24 AMIt isn't.... Buy what you want... You've earned the strange coins to buy, so spend spend spend my friend!!!
-
haha i Xur all the time a lot of people don't have no mics on, i never hear them say anything XD just enjoy weapon! but don't afk in a strike it's rude
-
It is in no way, shape, or form wrong to buy from Xur. This games loot is based on rng, it is random, and is not earned. Exceptions to this are exotic bounty weapons because there you are working toward that weapon, knowing that you'll get it. Other than that I could as easily get a purple engram that upscaled to an exotic as I could get a exotic drop from a raid. Xur helps to balance the scales for people who are either unlucky, don't have as much free time to play because they have responsibilities to see to, or both. I am a day one player and didn't get a exotic from nightfall until January. I am fortunate to have the majority of exotics now but I sometimes go a few weeks without one, even if I run nightfall 3x, gorgon chest, and crota. I have a family and work and can't put 1000+ hours in just running strikes hoping for a drop. People that complain about Xur are people with far too much time invested in a game that think that that entitles them to something like in game gear or status and don't understand that not everyone has so little else to do.
-
It isn't bad at all. Anyone who thinks otherwise has no intelligence at all. Raids, ROC Strikes, Crucible Rewards; they are all RNG. You can't earn in RNG, you can only hope you get lucky, and if you don't, you forget about it and just try again.
-
Because people spent 1000+ hours doing the same crap since day one to get everything, so those people feel like people who only have a couple hundred hours, only did a couple weeklys, and bought weapons don't deserve them. People don't understand xur is for the casuals and not everyone can spend every waking moment of their free time playing Destiny. Or some people don't want to run the same raid again and again. Either way whatever weapons someone else has doesn't affect you. You can't tell if I got TLW from xur or a NF or whatever
-
It really isnt that bad at all, its just that some believe there superior when they got their exotic by chance. They bitch about "earning it" but at the end of the day its really a matter of luck, not always skill.
-
Too much free time, I suppose...
-
It's not. Every strange coin is earned lol
-
Xur or no xur, you're still not really earning your Specific exotic directly. In a raid, you're earning a chance at a random exotic. With a weekly strike you're earning currency to buy a specific exotic, which half of the time isn't good anyways. People feel great about themselves because they got a gjallarhorn during hard VoG from atheon, and people feel great after going afk during weekly heroics and buying their shiny new ice breaker. It's all the same thing! Tldr; Jet fuel can't melt steel beams
-
Is it bad to buy a ps4 with welfare money? Is it bad to afk your way to 9 strange coins three times per week? You can't say "no" to one without the other.
-
It's not. If somebody tells you it is, than they are stupid and wrong.
