If you could redesign the Tower?
If you could redesign the Tower in anyway to improve it, how would you? For me, I would add an area at the base of the tower like the picture I've included. I'm guessing Bungie was going to add a large area before at the foot of the Tower but never did.
Edit: Didn't think my thread would get this popular. Nice to hear people got some new ideas for the Tower.
Edit 2: I never expected that many comments on this thread. Guess I did good.

Maybe add a new social space where statues of legendary gurdians based off the lore are kept. With various vendors on a weekly schedule that come to visit that sell different class items than the one in the tower

I would add a transmuting station for legendaries, a bar, an ad board were you can look for groups to do raids and strikes with, a statue commemorating the three guardian classes in the center of the tower, a customization station were you can apply different armor stats to different pieces of armor, and an auction house, and player housing

How about actually being able to use your jump? That can open a whole new range of things to be added. Like being able to get to higher grounds much easier. Or getting to a place that requires your jump. So if you don't have the jump yet you wonder" how can I getting up there", the BOOM you can get up there. Also you go to a specific area and it says "hold x to enter". Then you are in a type of mini game. This mini games can range from soccer, parkour, something involving the purple ball, etc.

What if the tower had NPC guardians just to make it look like people are talking to each other and not just AFK or sprint around like we all do in the tower

A house with weapon racks, and armor stands. I would want one like the FWC hangout, and where I could enter my ship that's all i want

I always wonder if my guardian just sleeps on the ship. How about giving us a "home" in the tower, not a huge multi-level condo, but maybe a nice apt. With gun racks (10 or so) where we can put our hard earned/xurned guns on display. Same with armors, think Skyrim's armor mannequin. It'll be cool to see a full set of VoG or IB armors. And a Misc. displays for material like Crux, strange coins..etc

2 RepliesI would really tweek the Tower out and greatly enhance its vendors. Add a special item for sale for each say 10 levels you rank up with Vanguard, Crucible, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult. Give each of them the ability to "reforge" faction items for Marks. But because Marks are harder to come by than Motes, allow maybe a multiple choice option (think Diablo 3). The ship vendor should have more options. Maybe paint patterns for your ship for sale. Also the option to sell your ships to her for Glimmer or Materials. Upgrade the Gunsmith. How is this guy only selling weapons from like levels 10-18??? Why can't he possibly sell a lvl 20 Legendary Fusion Rifle? Why would he not be willing for some high cost in X currency or material be able to "reforge" a weapon? The guys a Gunsmith! The Shader/Emblem vendor should have a lot more options as well. More shaders, more emblems, of varying rarity. Ghost shells should also be something she could sell. And the best for last, a Transmog option allowing you to change the look on all non exotic items (weapons/armor). This would greatly allow for much better customization so we can all have our own unique looks. Vault space increase is MUCH needed. As for changes to the Tower itself, it definitely needs a firing range. Also maybe a character look change area (think Barber shop but with all pregame options). How many of us just quickly chose a few things so we could get started right then and there rather than spending 30 minutes figuring out how we really wanted our characters to look? Also maybe add a currency/trader person. Take that option away from Crucible/Vanguard and give to one person, but with much more options. You should be able to use Glimmer, Motes of Light, Strange Coins, Marks, Materials (ALL MATERIALS INCLUDING WEAPON ARMOR PARTS) to then trade in for anything that was just listed. Sure it might cost you 100 Weapon Parts to get 1 Strange Coin, but at least it would be an option. How about a Library? Why make me go on my computer to look up Grimoire cards. I could just browse around in the Library. Flesh the place out a little. It should make me want to wander around it all over again with some WOW areas, and the Vendors and people you interact with should really up their games to allow more options, flexibility, fun, story. Make this lvl 32 feel like I really need to hit reputation lvl 25 with FWC so I can have access to get X, and I need to save up so I can reforge this gun I would love so much more, and wow it sure is great to wander around the tower and look at the different Guardians and their unique looks and styles.

1 ReplyBigger, have vaults and vendors (like crucible, vanguard) in a single area together. Eris mourn and iron banner and other limited events near another. A shooting range that's attached to the gun vendor. Xur still popping up at random spots. Factions having separate areas yet close in proximity so you don't have to walk miles to get to each faction. Keep the ship area relatively the same, have a more social area to place glimmer bets on small mini games like arm wrestling and other small games around that area.

And most importantly, no balls to play with! Surely Bungie didn't intend for guardians to fiddle with soccer balls (futbols for you filthy europeans) or large purple balls when they should be saving the universe! And wasting time climbing intricate architecture to cheese the platforming and climb on top of the vault?! Never, not in MY tower!!
