Post your thoughts and suggestions regarding the new Inferno mode below!
My thoughts:
It was interesting, not entirely interesting, but interesting. For once I actually preferred striker over my defender, and those Standasides I bought weeks ago finally seemed to have a use. My usual "no enemies near us" dance while capturing points was replaced my a paranoid bobbing and spinning dance as I checked all the doorways. Overall it was a great change of pace!
My suggestions:
1) Make teammates show up on radar. You have no idea how many times a teammate snuck up behind me and got my fist in his face! lol!
2) Perhaps make the rewards higher than normal crucible. Inverno is a more challenging that normal crucible, and feels like it should have slightly higher rewards, even if it is just 4 marks instead of 3 or a 10% higher drop rate or SOMETHING.
What are your thoughts?

Ban shotguns from inferno lol

The idea is great, the gameplay really fun when there's no lag. Unfortunately, there is a metric shit tonne of it. Out of the last six or so, five were unplayably bad.
-
1. Got to fix the lag; always seems worse in these special game modes. Spent my entire blade dancer super on one guardian who just would not die; literally unkillable. With such debilitating lag at times, this game's PVP can never be taken seriously from a competitive perspective. 2. Other than that, make it more hardcore. Still too many shotty primaries. Have some special Inferno ammo economy. 4 rounds per special weapon on spawn only. None in reserve. Limited special pickups, with the ability to only carry a magazine of ammo on pickup. No reserve. 3. Find some way to limit supers. For example, increase the amount of XP required to fill the super bar. Make it 2 or 3 times the current amount. 4. Provide glimmer rewards to the top players only. 1500 for first, 1000 for second, 500 for third. Again RNG based, so not every round or anything, but as a chance to give credit where credit is due.

Make it truly hardcore by removing supers and heavy ammo!

No radar No supers No special No heavy No exotics This would rid the game mode of camping with shotguns and the thorn/last word/vex complaints.

[Xbox 360] Hey! I have a 3.0 K/D and I'm #3 in Oregon for crucible and #150 in the Country. I'm looking for good players with +2.0 K/D who like Iron Banner and PvP. Add me :)

-blam!-in spawn killed. Quick scoping fags. Love it so much.
-
Keep radar but no supers
-
Make it another game mode. Or stuff like this happens.
-
Grenade and melee kills should not award any points, only weapon kills should.
-
They should add friendly fire.

I like inferno because it gives hunters an advantage. The hunter subclass "Gunslinger" is based off of accuracy, reaction, and timing. The subclass "Bladedancer" is based off of skill, rushing, and (once again) reaction. Without radar the warlock is blind, they cannot prepare they're void bombs for people if they can't see them and the Titan is defenseless against surprise attacks other than a defenders ward of dawn. If two opposing players were to run into each other, one being the hunter, the hunter would have a higher chance of living.

Further comment on the whole shotgun fest in the game... The problem is the shotgun/fusion rifle part of the last patch was just words. It made no actual difference to gameplay at all, and we all could have told them that even before it dropped. BNG is well aware of the situation, they know people generally dislike the shotgun/fusion as primary weapon mechanic that is currently implemented in the game. But, they seem shit scared of actually doing anything about it! My fear is that this has become the norm, just like in Gears of War, and perhaps they are just too scared to change the meta away from shotguns as primaries. Personally, I think the mechanic broke Gears of War, making it a lesser game, and I think the same is true of Crucible. Answer: simple...a flat special ammo economy of 3 or 4 rounds only for all special weapons on spawn. None in reserve, and only a magazine of ammo can be picked up, no reserve can be held. I do think that shotguns and fusion rifles should be available from spawn as secondary options. A secondary weapon is an important mechanic in any multiplayer shooter and is necessary; rather than having to rely on reloading your primary, a quick switch to secondary is the sign of good pvp play.

Edited by I-Behemyth-l: 3/7/2015 11:49:35 AMI don't get why you think it's harder than normal crucible. In my experience it's not. 1 of 2 things happen for me, I either get the jump on unaware people and destroy them easily or they catch me slipping and proceed demolish me while I try to figure out where I'm taking fire from. None of that seems harder to me. At the end of the day unless you play with a team who calls out it's fun and challenging but for pubs with randoms, which most people play, it's annoying. But if they wanted to add it permanently I wouldn't mind. It offers a change and you don't have to play it

UR, high impact sniper with final round = god mode.
-
Ugh, too little too late for me. I have no intention on playing Inferno because they're using it to determine which gun to break next. Avoiding the thing allows me to decide I don't want any gun nerfed
-
Just rename this mode "Shotgun Control." There's no reason to use any other weapon.
-
My suggestion is make it permanent and add the rest of the playlists: Clash, Rumble, Skirmish and Salvage. Hopefully even Iron Banner. Thank you.

It's fun I've played like 35 matches and have only seen like two campers and I'm usually prefer snipers but now I can use the shotgun more effectively than I used to I have a mostly unpredictable play-style and now the radar won't give my position away now I just find it so much easier than normal crucible
-
Inferno is fun as well without radar. It's like real war, where you don't know where your enemies are. Friendly Fire!!!!!! To truly make this challenging. Where you your supers can damage friendlies too :) Then again, that could also put a target on your back if you gave the enemies that winning point.
-
It's easy to rock, due to my being a stealth Hunter
-
Its so much better because im used to not having a radar but everyone that plays destiny relies so much on the shitty radar
-
no shield armor and it would be perfect....its nothing more than a shotgun "dick measuring contest"...if every gun was capable of competing i will play it...as is its only shotgunners running around chaotically, which to me is not fun
-
I love it the way it is. Nothing more entertaining than watching someone use a super on a teammate. Lol
-
I feel like they could incorporate Knucklehead Radar and Third Eye Blind into it though, otherwise I feel like those two become useless in this new mode.
-
I feel you man, I've been doing the insanity dance during captures too. Personally I love it. I love the chaos, the smart gameplay, the attention to gunfire and sightlines, the fast pace. I'd like less special ammo but its alright, everybody can play that game so I guess it's just who outshotguns who sometimes. Can't argue with better rewards either but the experience is all the reward I need at this point. Something a little fresh in Destiny, who'd a thunk it?
