*Post doesn't apply to PvP*
Let's be honest
Almost every warlock uses Sunsinger in PvE
Almost every Sunsinger uses self revive
Almost every Sunsinger using self revive waits until they die to use their super
Almost every Sunsinger that self revived makes a small amount of orbs
IMO, if you wait til u die to use your super, you are a shitty player
Anyone who has experienced the glory of 3 warlocks all using their supercharges all the time knows it's the best way to play the game (aside from raids, whole different playstyle is necessary for those)
If you are a Warlock reading this, please consider turning of self revive
I dare you to play 10 ROC strikes where you use your super the second the yellow bar appears, then tell me how you liked the playstyle
All this being said, I main a Hunter b/c 99% of people can't use the Warlock effectively
Bring honor to the Warlocks fellow guardians
EDIT: im trying to stay away from giving Voidwalkers a bad name, trying to keep negative comments to sunsingers
EDIT 2: apparently a lot of people rely on sunsingers to save their team when everyone else dies??? There's such a thing called strategy, and excellent strategy>waiting until everyone dies to progress
EDIT 3: so according to some, not currently having a warlock makes me ignorant to everything about the class and unable to judge the class and the people using it -_-
For one, i had a fully leveled warlock but wanted a second hunter. Two, I've been playing since day 1 and understand the roles in depth of every class better than most warlocks i meet
EDIT 4: IM NOT TELLING YOU HOW TO PLAY! PLAY HOWEVER YOU WANT, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION
EDIT 5: the comments seem pretty skewed towards "self revive is a great crutch, back off dudey" it's obvious that this post attracts warlocks, butthurt or not. However, the only time it is acceptable IMO to use fireborn is soloing nightfalls and 2 manning VoG or cheesing the bridge cp in CE

Im a sunsinger mainly pve usr hotpf and yes i have self res active but i use it every were to spam grenades cross the maps Generating tons of orbs with my bad juju The self res is just things such as atehon or relic runner if i die then i can rise once more only in nightfalls i just save it when im nearing the end
-
Its complete opposite for me, i spawn many orbs as sunsinger then along comes Mr Hunter with blade dancer spawns one orb then dies or completely avoids orbs and doesnt super at all...
-
Wait Warlocks can self revive? How the heck do I do that? I only use a Warlock so this would be helpful to me.
-
I don't think you have played as a warlock sir
-
Why should you even care how they use their supers?

Edited by Sergeant: 3/5/2015 6:08:40 PMWhy so much hate for fellow gaurdians? We all fight the darkness together.
-
I've been using heart of praxic Fire for a while now for pve and I use my super as much as I can unless I'm in VoG or nightfall/weekly heroic then I hold off for the self revive. My main is a Titan but I have to say warlocks shit on both classes. Hunters are terrible imo.
-
I'm not sold on the logic of maining a Hunter because 99% of Warlocks can't play right. How does that impact your decision at all really? Who cares how poorly anyone else compares to you if you know how to play it "right" (and I do use this term loosely because there really is no correct way to play a class). Why wouldn't someone who knows how to play a class better than 99% of players use that class? You would rather inconvenience yourself because everyone else plays wrong? I call BS on this reasoning. If you like the Hunter better then say so, but don't lie and assign blame to every other player that plays a Warlock.
-
Warlocks are so boss they don't need their super to decimate the enemy. Just the other day I carried a couple douches through the weekly and ended up soloing sepiks prime because the other two dumbasses were stuck in the way back room. So I said f them and finished it myself. Wouldn't of been possible without my sun singer.

Are you gonna tell your raid team to take off self-res? No,you're not
-
Great post! I agree 100% I part about having a strategy being better then hoping to save everyone when they die got me lol (leave that for invisible medics ;) Cheers!
-
Your a tool.
-
I have a warlock, I don't die very much but when I do, it's deliberate. U get to throw grenades everywhere. Can I just say that most people do not use super as soon as they get it
-
I run warlock as my main and personally I really don't like to use sun singer, more of a void walker. Only use it on raids and nightfall usually or in a pinch
-
I run void in PvP coz it's more fun. Which is the only reason I go into PvP in the first place.
-
Personally when I use sunsinger with self res, it's in roc strikes. I have two reasons: 1) I like to play until I die. This means I'll strategically eliminate as many enemies as I can, and yes, it is a crutch because i only really die in a tight pinch when I've been ambushed by hordes of enemy. ----1a) this also means I won't require another guardian to resurrect me, essentially putting him or her in harms way, and therefore risking the life of another. The ability to self res means others can continue the strategy and I don't end up acting like a liability. 2) self res means I can safely recover a teammate who may have fallen without real fear for my life, seeing as I have two tries to do it. Especially helpful in weeklies.

I'm a voidwalker obsidian mind kinda guy. Only use sunsinger for nightfalls and certain raid checkpoints. I get your point tho

I agree for the most part. I usually only save my super in hard mode raids. If I'm running roc strikes I will use it when I get it.

Uhm. Uhm. I've been using sun singer self res since before it was cool. *adjusts hipster glasses* Ew. Just kidding. But really. You need to chill. Using self res is a tactical decision? Do I rely on it? No. Do I save supers for if I die? Yes. Why? Because supers aren't really that important. You've got your warlocks saving their self res as a contingency plan. You've got your Titans saving their weapons of light bubbles for the boss fights. You've got your hunters saving golden gun for majors and using bladedancer only for the invisibility perks and not even really using arcblade. Nobody really relies on their supers. No one uses them until bosses. Why are you crying, friend? -
I love the edits on this post lol. And I totally agree with your most sunsingers rely on death argument.
-
I agree, I main a Warlock, and second a Titan, I only use Sunsinger in raids or Nightfall, other than that..Voidwalker.
-
im starting to think there is stragedy in destiny, none of the classes really compliment each other execpt gunslinger and defender wearing alpha lupi
-
Coming from someone who ran 3 Warlocks from day 1 to mid February, throwing lots of grenades isnt much better than regularly using special/heavy weapons. It's pretty much the same DPS especially in rock strikes. The only thing you're missing is orbs. The only thing radiance is really good for, besides self Rez, is damage reduction through radiant skin, but in a ROC strike you should never really need said reduction. If you want impressive firepower you run Voidwalker, if you want to save a hard wipe you run Sunsinger.
-
Having more than one sun singer gets excessive. VOID WALKER MASTER RACE
-
I rock Voidwalker for everything except hard mode raids
