I loved destiny at the beginning however the longer i played it the more i wanted to play games like Borderlands 2 and Diablo 3. Both have loot systems that went through massive changes over the past couple years, and im willing to argue that they have some of the best player rewards systems ever made. Just imagine if Bungie finally realized that if they made the loot system like Diablo 3, people might be more happy? Like whats the big deal of people getting a legendary engram drop off of a random enemy in partrol mode? im gonna be honest, considering the entire game is based off of RNG and there is NO way to trade items, it makes the game feel like im getting cheated for time alot. there really is no feeling of satisfaction for EARNING anything. The only time i feel like ive Earned something in Destiny, is when i fully upgrade a legendary or an exotic. Otherwise, i get one legendary for every 2-3 hours of playing the game, sometimes longer. In Diablo 3, i could play for an hour and get upwards of 15 legendaries. When you can get legendaries more frequently, it makes the game more fun and interesting, and also changes it from "Im Just waiting for that next legendary! Its been a while since i got a real reward!" to "Ok So ive gotten Coiled hiss twice already today, but it didnt have the right buffs on it, so im gonna keep doing strikes and hope i get the one that i really want!". Once Bungie realizes that 90% of the replay value of the game is getting cool loot, this game will get 10x better. Till then, we are just going to have to deal with waiting for cool loot.

  • A trading system would make the game better. Since the entire loot system is based off of RNG, it makes no sense that there isnt a player based economy. Think about every game that uses a loot system based entirely off of RNG, i guarantee they have trading. If bungie ever wanted to make a reward a guaranteed thing (so x enemy drops x loot 50-100% of the time) they could make that certain item "Account bound" meaning you cannot trade it to other people.

I'm sure Bungie and many of the community won't worry about "some friends." And this game won't last forever either. It's already getting stale for some, even me. Have 3 32s and have all hard raid weapons except the necroshit, and missing black hammer and HoC. I have a spear and Gjallahorn so it's not like I need those. I have an extra Thunderlord I would trade for a black hammer or HoC. Wouldn't break the game.

  • I think the opposite is true. Bungie knows that a lot of the people playing now are hunting exotics, and there is still roughly two months until House of Wolves. If anything they'll make it harder to get exotics to elongate game play and keep people around.

  • Yeah if you look at what i said, i was honesly talking mostly about Legendaries not Exotics. Destiny is different in that "Legendaries" are the only weapons that deal damage at the best level, besides exotics. In other games, you could find a gun or a weapon that is "Rare" and still dealt near to or the same damage as the Legendary. So then it comes down to RNG to decide if your legendary is much better or on par with a "rare". Also another trade off with a Legendary is always the unique buffs that they usually contain (Im talking about multiple games not just Destiny) so you dont base your equipment completely on damage. The best way to think of exotics is to compare them to "Set Items" in other games, they are really rare, and if you want to get them all, its going to take a while to get them. And i think it should stay that way in Destiny (with exotics).

  • True, but that shouldn't be the way to prolong the adventure. That is considered grinding at that point.

  • I agree, and it probably wasn't the original intention. But the game is pretty thin on content so its the situation bungie is in.

  • Pretty much. I think getting new items and searched for new gear is a great way to extend gameplay, but only if done right. If PvP was remotely fun or functional they could have done something amazing with it as well. I don't know why, but ME3 MP sticks out a little when I think of RNG being kind of fun. Matches weren't too long, and you could save up to purchase those packs to have a chance at awesome weapons. It was a lot more fun way to grind personally.

  • I stopped believing that when a competitive game mode comes down to who has the worst connections. And they need to make it a lot more customizable. If they had playlists that removed weapon types and / or supers, that would make it more fun. All the game modes really don't feel different from one another because of that.

  • I've really never has an issue with connection so can't comment on that but, don't take it so seriously. You will have a lot more fun.

  • I just like different types of challenges. I'm not one of those "this or that is op" types. Removing certain weapon types, supers, grenades, and many other things would make things more fun I think. I actually liked Killzone SF for that reason. Lot of different challenges.
