I have gotten many vog weapons including 2 fatebringers, I don't use them, don't even give them a chance, yesterday I dismantled a fatebringer and atheons epilogue, when u fight level 22 and up enemies 300 is not as effective as 331, I don't care how good fatebringer is, if I get it i dismantle it. They may be good but they are LIMITED more than u know, hit the link
Edit 1:Proof added
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/tMSu4HW9V7pWpvhiWkbocWA/htmlview
Edit 2: some of u don't seem to understand that I am not saying they are bad, I am saying the 300 limits performance and that is why I don't use them, I have no problem with you using them, for those of u not willing to try to understand the chart, if the fatebringer was 331 it would and 12.6% more damage, that's the difference
Edit3: many of you seem to enjoy calling me a scrub I just wanted you to know that scrub is a word that gamers use to make them feel superior over other gamers
Edit4: stop talking about the crucible, no one gives a -blam!- about it
Edit5: people keep telling me to do my research on how the damage works in this game maybe you should do your research because I already have there is a lot of data out there proving me right that 331 is far more superior than everybody else thinks over 300
Edit6: some are calling me a Christmas noob, this is false, I am actually a day one player
Edit 7: let me repeat this for the 100000 -blam!-in time, the fb and other vog weapons are good weapons I belive that the fb is actually one of the best however the link I posted PROVES that they are limited in what they do against higher level enemies, this is a fact no matter how good there performance is, put it this way, what if the fb was 331, the only thing it would change is the fact that it is a limited weapon and raise damage by 12.6%

Thanks for posting the proof to what I already knew as to why the FateBringer is STILL the most viable hand canon out there. Still one of the highest damages on any current enemies, tied for the largest clip and the only one that deals large amounts of real AoE. Not those bullshit little exploding bullets. But it's your game too. Feel free to die with whatever gun you like in your hand.
-
The difference is roughly 8 points of damage against level 33 enemies if you're level 32.
-
Only person who raids with Fatebringer & a 300 weapon & I consistently finish with the most kills. Somebody called me out one time & yet I had more kills than him. Give me Fatebringer over 331 Word of Crota any day of the week other than void nightfall. In fact, give me Fatebringer over any primary in the game for 90% of situations especially high level end game stuff.
-
Nor do I my friend nor do I ! and i struggle with nothing
-
I shoot once, ten thrall die. Find me another primary that does that. If your 331 primary does more damage to a thrall than my 300 does, even though I still one hit kill it, why does that matter. Add to that the fact that I kill ten enemies with that shot and you kill one and clearly fatebringer is better. Fighting a boss? Sure fatebringer isn't the best but to treat it as obsolete is absurd.
-
So, what you are saying is that the 20 extra damage points done by WoC makes up for the devastating power of Firefly and quick reload? You should probably find a different game to play.
-
So this mentality is the reason that I will get into fireteams having trouble taking down Oracles in the VoG.

Scrub

-
Whatever suits your play style. Although I must say that fatebringer was practical indeed for nightfall this week.
-
But it doesn't make a difference in crucible so who cares???
-
Crota normal end boss, fatebringer one shots all small enemies although they are over level 30, I think they are even 32. So I have no idea what you are talking about!?
-
Word of Crota only does about 2% more damage than the Fatebringer. If you don't like the gun then don't use it for all I care, but since I like it more than Word of Crota (unless I'm dealing with lots of Hive Majors) then I'm using Fatebringer. 2% less damage isn't enough for me to ditch a gun I like until it's irrelevant after HoW is out.

May wanna rethink about keeping a copy of some of the vog weapons. If they implement a roll system, which they could, you would make those weapons even better.
-
Fatebringer in HM Abyss.
-
They're all still great and relevant guns, spreadsheet nonsense or not, you're an idiot for crying about an extra 20 damage per shot , and you're gonna be crying even more when they ever decide to upgrade day one guns. I have a full stash of every weapon on xbox and they decimate everything, if not better than the newer guns . No -blam!-s. But hey I guess everyone just goes by numbers and impact these days
-
I keep em for vog and PvP
-
Good for you. I will use my fatebringer and watch explosions...
-
Good for you.

Edited by Mossy: 3/3/2015 5:22:35 PMSo you say you straight up dismantle Fatebringer when you get it, but you then go on to say that Fatebringer is still one of the best. Not to mention in one of your replies you said Fatebringer wasn't even in the top 20 weapons.... Hmmmm, makes you look a tad stupid huh...
-
I was doing a strike and my fatebringer did 1030 crit on a knight.
-
Just got another FateBringer I'm gonna level it just because it's fun to use
-
This is what I read. "331 weapons are better than 300 because they do more damage. I like them because of that and I don't use 300 anymore. Use whatever gun you guys want and whatever suits you best. It is not my place to tell you what to use." A lot of people here seem to think that OP is calling everyone dumb for using 300 weapons and that he is telling you to NOT use them. That is not what he said. He is telling is that he doesn't use 300 weapons because they do less damage. How can you guys flame him for that?
-
What the heck is the point of this thread? Just don't use them then, big deal?
-
331 over 300 is about 200-300 damage. The only time this matters is against majors/ultras and hard raid atm...
-
I use a blue scout rifle with 294 attack for everything. I hardly ever feel the need to use any of my 331 primaries, unless for sentimental reasons or very specific circumstances. Hell, I barely even wear my raid gear. 95% of the time, rarity and damage rating aren't that important. During the Raid/Nightfall, it is. But that's it.
