I have no idea but that seems to be the counter argument

I definitely feel suros ttk wasn't reduced by anywhere near 10%. There was a spreadsheet on here somewhere of ttk for every gun in the game previous to this patch. If someone found new ttk, comparison would be easy.

I Suros was nerfed more than that I I believe
-
In terms of damage per shot? Yes. In time to kill? I don't think so

How can you say reducing a weapons damage 14.5 base amount doesnt increase ttk by 14.5. Nerfing danage literally increases time to kill. I know what your trying to say. I second or half a second isnt going to matter. The problem is that half a sec does matter. Reaction time, who hits first, and who has more headshots. Shooters are games of mili seconds.

Edited by Willdahbeest: 3/2/2015 10:17:02 PMYour assuming the last shot always required the full amount of damage it deals. If health is 200 and you do 28 damage per shot, it takes 8 shots. Reduce damage to 25 per shot (~11% reduction in damage) & the time to kill is not changed at all, still 8 shots. Disclaimer: numbers are for demonstration only. No idea what real numbers are.

You are correct sir. But the thing is we do know for a fact it added bullets to kill. High impact added 1-2 more shots depending if you get the headshot. Really not alot. It only mili seconds of a difference but the medium impact guns got hit to and it added a second or less to kill. Again not huge but as a stated before shooters are games of mili seconds. What you choose to do and how you perform says who wins. Im not bashing you btw. Your point is solid its less than people think. Just pointing out adding a second can get you killed.

Oh I agree. But that's the point of the balancing. Bringing the easiest guns to kill with in line with the rest. I simply wanted to demonstrate that a 10% damage reduction isn't a 10% time to kill reduction. Its not out of the question that a 15% damage point reduction is only a 3% time to kill reduction. This also shows how high rate of fire weapons would be affected less than low rate of fire weapons.

If the time to kill the reference creature took 5.0 seconds and after the patch took 5.125 seconds it was a 2.5% reduction. I don'k know how Bungie calculates effectiveness, but believe it is damage over a set time.
