Can we get cosmetic slot

A problem I have with endgame gear is that you end up looking mostly like everyone else when you reach level cap. There is also some gear that look way better on the male model than the female model... and honestly, I would like to be able to make my guardian look the way I want it and not to have to look like "endgame" guardian. While levelling my titan I had the perfect look when I was around level 12-15... now I have 2 grenades strapped to my chest ( and make my female titan look like she is putting padding in her bra) I'm stuck having blades on my helmet and legs ( or wolf pattern legs) and some crazy spiked shoulders.... Why can't we just have 4 cosmetic slots so I can be happy with the way our guardian look... can't see why people of the future make every single items look the same...

  • Bumpity bump bump. Seriously, I hope this discussion isn't too far dead. With the next DLC coming out, I think the idea of a cosmetic slot is important to the player satisfaction of the Destiny community. As it is, most max levels look identical and while some players don't care what gear they wear (See the armor people wore in Halo: Reach for example), there are at least just as many others who DO care what their characters look like. We have a taste of cosmetics with marks/bonds/cloaks and shaders but as this thread and others like it illustrate, there is obviously a want for cosmetic choices. I for one still carry around a rare helmet with 15 light simply because I prefer it's aesthetics to any of the level 32 helmets. I have two sets of gear, one for when I actually need high light levels and one for when I'm simply having fun and want to look cool. While this can continue (Albeit with my raid group complaining about me going into Crota's End as a level 30), I and other fans like myself would greatly appreciate the addition of cosmetic slots for armor (Beyond shaders and class items). As the game currently exists, ALL level 32s look the same with some minor alteration due to class item or shader. Bungie created Destiny with the tagline "Become Legend" and they often spoke about the stories that players would create in the game and that players would come back for years to come. However, how can you have a legend about an army of clones? Are we the Vex? I have no experience in programming OR interface design so I have no idea how difficult implementing the cosmetic appearance of armor as a supplement to actual worn gear but considering the recent resource interface changes and the fact that Bungie is still making DLC for the game, I feel that currently it is still doable. As a close, a market for this kind of feature exists, as shown by this thread and others like it. The similarity of high level armor is a common issue in the community (Gleaned from a short amount of time on the feedback forum) and the implementation of cosmetic armor slots would be a definite fix to this. While I am no programmer, it seems doable due to what Bungie has been willing to do in-game already. Finally, the idea of a unique legend is stated in the tagline of the game. A legend is a unique occurrence and implementing cosmetic armor would be a great step towards this goal of "legend" for players. I highly doubt anyone at Bungie will read this (Though as game companies go, Bungie is surprisingly open to player ideas), but if they do, know that this feature is a much wanted one and while it doesn't affect gameplay, it certainly affects the longevity of Destiny as a title.
