Absence of room to grow and truly express ourselves

I understand why certain maps were removed from control, due to their immense size, but now those maps rarely show up at all. Which is a shame, since I thought pushing the boundaries when it comes to map size was a Bungie past time. Maps like Sandtrap from Halo 3 or Bastion from Destiny itself help to expand on the number of variant strategies for players to choose from, which in turn expands upon the replay value for those in the community who do enjoy the PvP shooter aspect of the game. I guess the heart of the question is why do you, Bungie, insist on limiting our access to find entertainment in the maps that you molded for our exploration?
If you will not answer the community's howls for private lobbies or a forge in which we might build upon what lay before us, at least answer my simple question.
