What is Love
Is it the journey to discover bliss With someone who takes the time To walk slow and cherish every kiss Is it this struggle called life And knowing they are by your side Holding your hand through all the strife Is it healing the broken A melding of heart and of soul Present even when left unspoken Or is it just an endless pursuit Searching for someone, for something Yet knowing deep down, you'll never taste the fruit
-Inspired by Æ's What does love mean to you thread Lost
I'm walking around an empty shell Of the person I was before You gave me back what I once had But I'm not that person anymore Every song that comes on the radio Tells the story of you and me What we had, what could have been And what now will never be The bond we had was deep But the hurt is just too strong I want so bad to fix it all And get back where we belong Losing you means I've lost everything My hope left with my best friend There's no fire left in my soul I just want this emptiness to end
Looking Back
Looking back I see a girl Full of life and innocence A tiny being in a limitless world Filled with such a pure essence Looking back I see a shadow The memories are distorted But in my dreams it's crystal clear Those crimes stay unreported Looking back I see a girl Trying to move passed the past Growing, changing, ever healing Ignoring the questions left unasked Looking back I see a shadow Alone, abandoned and betrayed Lost in a world she wasn't expecting Surrounded by pain she cannot evade Looking back I see a girl Chasing a glimmer of hope Finally finding herself deep inside And finally able to cope Looking back I see a shadow Fragments of what used to be Was that the final chance she'd get? She'll have to wait to see
• Oh and here's a slightly newer one, actually written as an inspiration for a book I'm working on.
Unable to die, unable to love, Transcendence becomes the new death, I cannot live, cannot die, For I am Tainted. My sins persevering the eons of existence, Shunned from the world, Forever cursed to wander this land, Forever cursed to life, Listless and broken, If i could have known, If I could have dreamed, The yawning abyss would be mine, But through it all, Deaths dark grasp has eluded me, For I am Dejected. Endlessly breathless, Each day a new pain, I feel not remorse, Nor pity, Nor fear. For I am Despoiled. Immortality granted, Peace denied, Deaths cold embrace, That final destination, I know what it means to be smitten, From the annals of time, From expectations of existence, I no longer live in this realm nor that, I Now Stand Corrupted.
• I have these old ones from a out 5 years ago when I was a depressed little emo kid. Reading them again makes me lel.
Those crimson tides of sorrow, they lap upon the shores of my conscience, a relentless fury upon my soul, eroding the essence of morality, blurring my vision with salty, bloody memories. That last time I saw myself, I was adrift amongst rocks, far from the moors of sanity, those waves came crashing down, afloat and helpless, I held fast to gleaming tears. Fraught with ill desire, filled with torturous anguish, that dying sea forgave. Standing atop that raft, you reached out with your comfort, from the edge of disparity I returned, and lifted me from that searing ocean, that fear became fleeting, those wounds healed. You brought me back to shore, your vengeance quelled, cured my insanity, you let me survive, You cut the rope from the tree.

Perhaps one day, sullen and broken, Light will envelope us, When hope is all but lost, when our worthlessness is finite. We feel our destruction, slowly drawing near, We know there is an all consuming, a force that eats your soul. Forever unperturbed, forever undisturbed, we see out light upon ourselves, dark yet brigh at both times, casting the shadows, harsher than harsh, the cold embrace we seek, the darkness we know. the end, abyss, eternity within, the grasp is pitiless it is never ending its bliss.

Destroyed from within Decayed from without, for nill is our life suffering, the infinite loop Forever we know the source scouring it upon ourselved unable to rid it of unyeilding horror Contained with no boundry stopping here but never we pity the souls, those suffering sin. Never in sight the end never nigh, upon the great break which we hold to the truth. For one day we vanquish, that sadness from our path to be replaced by the suffering of countless worlds past.

For now I abhor my existence, wish to obviate my lineage, a coalescence of sorrow stricken me, a maelstrom of unwarranted depression, a rampant descent to hopelessness. Now I stand shattered revulsed, reflecting this hatred unmitigated, like the deepest winter's storm, it piles upon itself, not a million fires could melt this ice. In this moment an insatiable thirst, seeking outlets, deplorable tears, scars and blood, lust and fear, insanity twisting, a manifestation, a degenerates consummation. An Odium, a monument, a beacon, animosity runs retentive, gives hope, vision, anguish, but extinguishes logic, a pariah you become. For now we fight, these battles we cannot win, to the war we will all lose, Retreat? Surrender? Give me a reason, To keep this bullet in its chamber.
OH MY -blam!-ING GOD BUNGIE YOU DELETED ALL BUT TWO OF MY POEMS SERIOUSLY -blam!- YOU FIRST YOU -blam!- UP THE GROUP SYSTEM THEN YOU -blam!- UP THE WORTHWHILE THREADS INSIDE THEM -blam!- YOU -blam!- YOU -blam!- YOU!! Deceit
Part I Fear Pain Lies These three are connected. You feel the fear, You fear the pain, You tell the lie to stop the both of them. Does it work? No. Never. Not ever does it work. Old fears replaced by new ones. New lies to patch over old ones. More and more and more are needed, To sustain the life that lies within, To keep the fear and pain at bay. Part II I cannot fathom from whence the lies first sprung But they were from a good place, no? They were in favour of a good cause, yes? Do they come from good places now? Am i doing good for lying for my own benefit? The answers cannot be in the affirmative. I do not feel good, nor am i or others benefiting. But yet i keep on doing it. Is this the desperate compulsion of an addict? Part III Such has become my modus operandi for life; The method by which i live and work in the world. A fear, a lie, another fear, another lie; A fear about the lie, a further lie to cover the first lie. Lies covering lies covering lies. A parasitic cocoon around a dying caterpillar; Never to burst from its cage. Never to be looked upon by the eyes of man, As anything other than a cocoon of withered hopes and dreams; That i span for myself, wishing to spring from soon, A colourful creature as ever was seen. But never is that to be; My cocoon shall forever remain. A burden i created all for myself; As i sit here, lying in supposed vain.
Pretty Little Lies
The Sun'll come out, Tomorrow. The trees'll be green, Tomorrow. The time'll be right, Tomorrow. You'll feel quite alright, Tomorrow. The problem with tomorrow is, Tomorrow never comes; All i get are endless todays, On the merry-go-round of life.
Farewell to the Sun
The sun forgot to set today As it will for the next few lifetimes The clouds ceased to weep For they ran out of tears with which to mourn Life withers Dust replaces grass And I only wish my last moments could be spent Writing letters in a moonlit orange grove
My Father's Kingdom
Once upon a time, in a world quite like our own There was a man who built an empire out of dreams He was intelligent He was ambitious But most of all, he was kind The people looked upon his creations And saw that it was good They begged for more The man wouldn’t dare refuse His love was reflected through his kingdom As sunlight off of window panes Warmth Luminance One day a woman entered his life Whose intelligence and ambition rivaled his own Her pale green eyes left him entranced While her scarlet lips beckoned him ever closer She became his muse His light in the dark. Their souls intertwined on multiple planes of existence And they became one They painted beautiful dreamscapes of faraway lands And stored wonderful adventures on celluloid Hoping to preserve them forever Yet their creations held no value in their eyes For they already possessed what was most precious to them A child Their son The source of all their joy They taught the boy everything From finding gold in the murkiest streams To brightening the world with merely a smile They lived happily in their handcrafted reality With nary a thought of separation to ever cross their minds Unfortunately, no tale is ever perfect Years passed, and the woman fell ill Leaving her frail and vulnerable The man tried desperately to restore her health But all the magic in the world couldn’t save her Finally, she succumbed to the Fates Leaving the man and his son alone Though their souls were still joined in union The man still felt broken Sadness seeped through his fragmented heart And eventually flowed though his system like a disease He took solace in a bottle of amber poison And drank until he didn’t know his own name The boy worried for his father But knew he could do nothing As the man withered, so did his Empire There was no more joy to be found And Hope was a lost commodity The man couldn’t bear to see his Kingdom in such ruin So he took his life Leaving his son one final, bittersweet masterpiece A letter Handwritten in his finest penmanship To a mere man, this was nothing more than words on paper But to his son, those mere words were nothing short of scripture Every syllable expressed the man’s remorse for not being there For not being strong enough to see the performance to the end He knew that his kingdom was forgotten by the people Who saw that it was good so long ago He had nothing And like that, he said goodbye. But if he only knew, That once upon a time, in a world quite like our own There was a young boy Whose father built an Empire out of dreamscapes He was intelligent He was ambitious And he yearned to be like his father He spent his spare time drawing dreamscapes on paper And capturing wonderful adventures on digital film Hoping to show them to his best friend And if you only knew, Father That once upon a time You meant the world to me Maybe this would’ve ended differently On a brighter note perhaps I’m sorry for never telling you how much I admired you But there’s always a silver lining I will rebuild your kingdom Hope and joy will fill these streets again And the people will see that it is good.
Passive Aggressive Alcoholism
Allow me a moment Just a minute Only a slice of your ever busy schedule To express my deepest gratitude Appreciation And over abundant joy For giving me a purpose A reason And dare I say it A calling To start drinking To tactfully blur the line Between apathy And self pity With a paintbrush Saturated in cheap vodka On sale for 17.43 Down at the local liquor store Run by a middle aged man Whose dreams of being and doing Were crushed in an instant So long ago And no memory blotting Grief relieving nectar Could ever repair a lifetime of damage And heartbreak That’s comes to be expected with being alive But we are different people Thus, we require different remedies I drink to finally realize That any love you ever showed me Was absolute bullshit That pity was the link And I was the ball connected to the chain That kept you with me And now With the last few drops of poison Running through my system I have the courage to utter Thank you Thank you for pretending to care And then I’ll smile A genuine smile And finally say the words You wanted to hear since it all began: Goodbye, my love. May we never meet again.
The Confession
Have pity on me Fates For I am a lowly creature Who doesn’t know any better But it’s not for a lack of trying I’ve contracted a bad case of public opinion From a rally crying for the blood of an enemy they do not know The only cure is a hard dose of reality A commodity in short supply these days They banished innocence As honest men turned into failed martyrs And I’m afraid I’m afraid of the concept of guilt The implication of what I’ve done I seek comfort in confessionals I pour out my soul to a nameless man behind a screen  Saying forgive me father for I have sinned From the moment I left the womb I sin because it’s my nature I sin because there’s no other way to prove that I am human But I ask not for forgiveness  And I ask not for your prayers Only a penance, father A penance for my nature Have pity on me, Fates For I am a lowly creature Who doesn’t know any better But it’s not for a lack of trying
Saving James
I was there when you first regained consciousness I saw confusion in your eyes And fear wringing your spirit by the throat You were broken, James You were broken Wrecked beyond all repair And were it not for the angels Yes, there are angels And were it not for those angels who weren’t satisfied To just sit back and watch your world collapse You’d be nothing more than a vagueness A distant memory Yet there they were Sorting through the ruins of your shredded body Searching for anything that still held that spark And you know what? They found it They found it hidden in the second chamber of your heart It was so fragile, James So fragile and dim And it was dim because you were losing hope It was dim because you were certain That nothingness would engulf you And were it not for that angel Were it not for that valiant being You most certainly would have been taken And while the others stood back beside me Knowing that they could do no more She cupped your light in her hands And she pressed her lips to it She pressed her lips to it and bestowed upon it A light of her own A light that intermingled with yours And it gave you hope, James It gave you hope and just enough strength To keep the darkness from stealing you away And then you shimmered You shimmered and shone Like nothing I’ve ever seen It was beautiful You should’ve seen it You woke up Sputtering blood and bile With confusion in your eyes And fear filling the vacancies of your soul But you were alive, James You were alive That was four years ago And you’re still a broken man You’re a broken man Who can’t seem to find himself again But you have to, You have to. If not for you Then for me If not for me Then for her The one to whom you owe so much God knows it’ll be difficult But you’ll make it, James You’ll make it I can still see her light in your eyes
all of this shit was from 2012

              • I once had to create a poem using only Halo dialogue. It's the only poem I wrote willingly, I think. (Written before Halo 4 was a thing) Didact's Reprisal Mendicant Bias- Beggar after knowledge Machine and nerve with its mind concluded Did you think me defeated? You will find no salvation on this ring Lies for the weak! Beacons for the deluded! This slander offends All that walk the path Clear evidence of treachery long hidden The weight of your heresy will stay your feet No enemy has ever withstood our might Not even the Flood can stop it Its divine wind will rush through the stars Now is the time of our unworlding One final effort is all that remains And I am not afraid We shall fulfill our promise We fight for the grace of the Mantle And this time None of you will be left behind

              • Mystery
Maybe it's the mystery that attracts me. Those lingering questions that keep me up; when sleep would otherwise come easy; Of whether the symbols are words or just pictures. Yet "a picture tells a thousand words," So they say, but like a foreign language, their meaning is sometimes lost to Petty insecurities and assumptions. The spirit rises to think that maybe,  It has woken and is free; From chains of love that bind the weak. "Maybe love was holding me back from more." But then it falls so suddenly down,  A tumble back to the memory of lust, not remembering where it travelled from there. Only taking me by a slender hand into the dark. The symbols shimmer in the light,  As if their meaning dances away to evade anyone willing to decipher what lies beneath. Truth lies dormant, somewhere far away.
The Second Departure
There's something wrong. "Turning and turning in the widening gyre." Doesn't the cold unnerve you? The lingering doubt in your mind? It's coming up to the surface, "The Falcon cannot hear the Falconer" A shifting leviathan of malice charges upwards; Out of the dark abyss And so we fall now, unto this dark. "Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold" Dragged down by a serpent of self reflection To stare into the eyes of that lifeless thing. The lights are turning off; "Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world" The armless embrace holds you still. There's something wrong.
