It already gives you a popup print when deleting a character after the 5 second button hold

Ummm... yea that did really help a little, but what I'm asking and pointing out is, the game should know that the one who is deleting the item or a character is the owner of the account itself. With that popup anyone can still walk into your room and open your PS4 , open Destiny and then just simply delete your character as easy as that.

  • Its would be annoying, yes, but its nothing you can't fix given enough time

  • I really want Bungie to answer this for me as to why they didn't add this, maybe there's some good reason than just forgetting it. That's all I'm looking not a thread fight here.

  • Normally it takes 1 second to delete something, even moving that up to 5 seconds gives you enough time to rethink your action. Theres no need for a password protection because after 4 seconds you should be sure its what you really want to do. Deleting a character is a bigger decision, so they make sure you want to delete it with a confirmation. If you dont want someone on your account, PS/Xbx have systems in place on the console that dont allow automatic sign in. Im not trying to fight you.

Yea I get you're point too. This thing what I'm talking about is the worst case scenario that can happen and I'm suggesting a simple way to prevent it. I also know that this type of issue only happens on 3% - 7% overall players or even less, and half of them isn't their fault for deleting their characters, it could be an angry friend, girlfriend or even a stranger. But let's not dig in deeper to that issue. It's always good to prevent something even if their chances of happening is very low, that what makes a good game with a good security. Like they say also in sex, you can't cure HIV but you can prevent it. I work as a Data Security Administrator and the Head of the IT security department in our company and in my 10 yrs of studying and working in the IT security industry. We have this rule that goes like this, If a data in a system can easily be deleted / tampered by anyone even a baby as long as he press the right buttons and the right time then the system / game has a very big security hole and things like this shouldn't be ignored by gaming companies. But yes, you are right it's great to have the PS / Xbox having the security system. Though for me it's not enough in my opinion.
