It really grinds my gears when people post about ______________________ in #Community.

Sound off. What do you expect to find here, and what gets in the way of that? I'm very interested in better curation of the forum, and I'm curious about where you see the boundaries between categories. Very interested in sincere feedback. Be sure to upvote what you agree with, too. That helps a lot.

  • Community, I've always thought, should be the kind of place members come together to discuss things like the Community Carnage, PAX meet ups, and the like. It should be a hub for members to come together and interact in a positive way that helps foster friendships and a stronger feeling of community. Has the the community forum ever really done that? I mean, maybe a little? I recall a whole lot of "nuke the flood," threads back in the day, but even through those the good things managed to float to the top. While I can't offer a solution, what really grinds my gears is the sheer volume of content that's better suited for other forums. The community forum was never perfect, but the types of threads that made this place great always found a way to the surface. Now? Not so much. And yes, a large part of that is simply due to the volume of new members, and it's not something we can solve, but if we came up with a way to better keep content in the proper forums, I'm certain it'd help.
