Look at mine on my Hunter it's one of the better rolls out there, hammer forged is almost redundant on this shot gun because shotgun range caps out so the middle perk is much more useful as say perfect balance or flared magwell

The range is that high that hammer forged isn't needed? I might need to keep this in mind, but hammer forged does sound like a good choice.

The base range of felwinter's lie is the same as the maxed range of the secret handshake (vanguard shotgun).

You don't need it, because it really only moves the range up a sliver, rendering it nearly useless
