Bungie is owned by Bungie. This has been stated more times than google can show me on a single page. One can only assume that the Activision partnership (because that's what it is a "partnership") was just to be able to have the backing to do the projects they want, ie Destiny. They probably wanted to reach out to more than just xbox users. They're not limiting themselves to one system and therefore that nets more moola. Don't act like more moola is bad...you'd go for the thing that pays the most too, don't lie.
Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for Destiny but then it was on sale, I tried it and wow...it's a love letter for long term Bungie fans such as myself. It definitely pulls from Halo but I'm feeling such a Marathon vibe, it's making me want to download and play the Marathon series again just to be sure. Bungie knows their shit. This is a pretty bold step but bold steps are what bring about change.

Have you read the destiny gameinformer? Destiny almost sounds like a different game than the one we play. From the sounds of it multiplayer (or crucible) wasn't even mentioned. But unfortunately I think bungie still -blam!- our wallets
