Solution to Destiny's bad loot system.

Like nearly everyone else, I am absolutely tired of the loot system in Destiny. So many of us have played countless crucible matches, strike playlists, or raids to almost never get anything while others seem to get things all the time for no apparent reason. My solution is this: For every consecutive strike playlist, crucible match, or raid completion (only the first exotic loot section counts per week per character) Bungie could add a small % increase in the chances to drop an exotic which would then reset once loot it received on said character (the bonus is character specific). As of right now there is no loot incentive to do activities consecutively. Of course you can grind crucible and strikes all day and you are bound to get something sooner or later, but wouldn't it be nice to know you are getting better and better odds with each match? I am by no means calling for a 1% chance increase per match.. let's just say for example an additional .3% chance per match this would mean by the time you do 20 crucible matches or strikes in a row you have a total additional chance of 6%. While this doesn't seem like much it is much better than the odds to get anything as of now, and over time would guarantee you something worth your time. Anyway that's my thoughts on the subject, feel free to reply I'd like the opinions of others. Edit: "Skywalker" had an idea that supplements the system. As time goes on and you acquire more and more exotics. The increased drop chance should only be added onto the drop rate of exotics you do not currently own. This helps those of us only playing for a special exotic needed for our collection. I would add that if you have every exotic the chance would be added to all of them once again in the case that you want multiples of the same exotic for use on a different character.

    • I've been saying that something like this should be applied to Xur's inventory for each item until he sells it. Each week Ghorn or Red Death isn't sold increases its chances by .1% until it is sold, then it is reset. A little transparency wouldn't be too bad either for us numbers nerds. Even though everything is picked by RNG, there are still odds/percentages behind the scenes going on determining what drops when. I know they won't say anything but if they would, it would be cool if they would say that (for example) there are 500 spots in the loot/reward system, 250 are no reward, 150 are random legendary equipment, 10 are sunbreakers, 2 are gjallahorn, etc... RNG still determines the what reward is selected but at least players know their odds of getting the reward they are still waiting to get.

      • The thing is I think the loot drop rate is set really low for some items along the lines of .00005 or less. So an increase of .3 would be a major increase. I think the reason why some get multiples is the fact that some of them are or was set much higher for a time to let some get them so they would exist in the game to drive others to play longer to try and get them too. The incentive was not ever really meant to be that you would get a specific item but just that you had the chance to get it even if very slim. This is not a game where you are meant to be guaranteed item X for doing activity Y for Z amount of times. But too many players think it is or was meant to be that way. You are only guaranteed the chance at the item, not that you will get it.

        • You really should pay attention to your syntax. Or do you mean you like other guardians? I was confused by your first sentence

          • I am one of those who is neglected by the RNG system. I'll take anything that will help my chances. I also like to submit that the chances of receiving an exotic you already have decreases. I haven't got a "new" exotic weapon in months.

          • Great idea. Also, have Xur sell good stuff too.
