Do you use primaries with Oracle disruptor in VOG hard
It just took me an hour and a half to do atheon on hard with a group of guys who ran through CE normal in 29 minutes. The reason why? They weren't getting oracles down fast enough. Mind you everyone in tis group was a 31 or 32. I saw MIDA, Thorns and words of Crota being used on oracles, just to list a few. Do people not realize how important oracle disruptor is?
Thanks for all the replies guys good to see that a lot of people use oracle disruptor primaries. I'll also have to give Super Good Advice a shot as that seems to be a favorite amongst you guys

Voc, ae, or corrective measure for oracles. If you don't have those use a fusion rifle. Plan C will absolutely wreck oracles

Always use VoC on oracles cause dmg & speed is key.

3 RepliesOracle Disruptor might be important, but not as important as weapon type. Fatebringer maxed is a beast, my favorite weapon... However it blows on oracles on vault hard. Why? Because hand cannons get a 30% damage reduction against oracles. Scout rifles have a 20% reduction. I have used "Up for anything," and "Abyss Defiant," and they both wreck... Atheon's Epilogue is probably better due to high magazine.

Leveling up my super good advice to give it a try on oracles. I have gallihorn but find that black hammer just destroys and you can just keep nailing crits and it's over before you know it.

If I'm ever going in to do Atheon, I will always switch to my max VoC. Dat Oracle Disruptor on it is beautiful and deals more damage. Mind, Icebreaker deals more damage, VoC fires 4 times faster.

I usually use confluence or epilogue. I had a 26 squeaker threaten to kick me the other night from vog normal becasue i was using max epilogue on the atheon oracles (killed them all by the way) and he told me if i didnt use a fusuin rifle instead i was going to get kicked

Fusion Rifles work great on the Oracles, but I'm too lazy to switch from my primary so I use whatever's in hand, which is usually a VoC, Fatebringer or Vex.

1 ReplyHaha here's a tip: a fusion rifle works really well against oracles. If your team can't beat them, then switch to fusion rifles. It should only take like two a shot (use machine guns on Atheon). MIDA, word of Crota or anything without oracle disruptor is not effective against oracles, no matter how good it is in other parts of pve. I've even played with people that will boot people using hand cannons other than Fatebringer against oracles since they do so little damage. Scout rifles and hand cannons are good because of critical hits, and you can't land critical hits against oracles, so something like a fusion or auto rifle works better (unless you have oracle disruptor)

4 RepliesI've used a fully upgraded atheons epilogue on the oracles in hard mode and it's nowhere near as useful as my 331 vanquisher VIII

For hard mode Id definitely try and use them or make sure everyone has Atkeast one weapon with it on to help as best as but I'm not gunna scream and kick people if they don't. For normal/helping friends I will wear full vog gear and disruptir weapons to help as best I can :)

I watched a team of mostly 32's on Twitch a while back, who had just steamrolled Crotas end, wipe continuously during the Atheon fight because nobody had VoG weapons on them with Oracle Disruptor. Everybody thinks you can use the 331 damage weapons and do just fine, but the fact is you're not doing enough extra damage on a Lvl.30 raid than you would with regular 300 damage weapons. Oracle disruptor does more damage to an oracle from a 300 VoG weapon than a 331 non-VOG weapon does. If at least one person on the teleported team isn't using a VOG weapon you're going to have a hard time keeping up. I ran a hard VoG maybe a month ago and my team had this same problem. I tried telling people countless times to use any VoG weapon they had on them but they always kept saying "but I've got a _______, it's maxed at 331 so I don't know why we're not killing them". Raid weapons are specialized to the raid they came from for a reason, especially in hard mode. Use them!

Corrective measure with max ammo, 100 rounds is more than enough

2 RepliesYep. Looks like you got a lot of good answers. Vision of Confluence or Super Good Advice for me. Plus on my Gunslinger class I get a super each time I enter a portal so I can golden gun at least 3 oracles (one hit).
