So, last week I did the nightfall with some friends and receive The Last Word as a drop at the end of the strike. I now have her leveled up to the first ascendant energy damage increase slot, so I'm no newcomer to the gun. There appears to be an issue with registering precision damage when shooting from the hip (which is the entire point of half this gun's upgrades). At first I figured it was just me sucking at aiming, but seeing as I can pop heads like a pro in ADS I began wondering. I did some experiments similar to those of the video, and found I can't even get precision headshots on those big-headed accolytes from 10 feet away. I'd even swear that I got more hipfire headshots before the "last word" upgrade. It's obvious enough that I never hipfire now if I can avoid it. If it is really just this inaccurate then they really gave it a garbage perk for a legendary.
This gun is still a beast in pvp and holds its own in pve, but I think there's definitely something up here. I'm considering putting my time into thorn since they will actually be fixing that one, who knows if this will get recognized/fixed.

Did bungie ever address this issue? It still seems to be extremely inaccurate with the last word perk, when fired from the hip, which seems to be the opposite of the expected behavior.
