How much does the burn help in Nightfall?
My best void special weapon is a 294 fusion rifle. Given this week's Nightfall strike, I'm thinking I need to be using a sniper rifle though. Problem is, my best void sniper is a 242. Will the void burn make up enough damage to be worth using this thing over, say, a maxed Ice Breaker?
Basically, I'm wondering if there's any kind of hard data on how much the burn helps. Any thoughts?
EDIT: So sounds like the general consensus is that any void is going to be far better than a little boost in regular damage. Good to know, thanks!

8 RepliesIt is exactly x3 damage. I have just tested with two LDR snipers, one of which was arc and the other void. The numbers come out as 1400/7000 arc and 4200/21000 void, so the voidburn is doing 300% on both body and headshots.

do the nightfall. note the time to kill. play weekly heroic with same load out. note how long it takes. without a burn the heroic usually is more difficult.

3 RepliesIt pays huge dividends. We had an easier time yesterday with the Nightfall than we did with the Weekly Heroic thanks to the Void Burn Two players armed with Truth and a Void sniper will bring Sekrion down in no time flat.

Was doing 9000+ precision on nexus with void burn, 3000+ without.

1 ReplyThe most important consideration is shields. On nightfall you need the appropriate element to strip shields. And a 242 void will strip shields on a void shielded mob like minotaurs in real quick. Compared to a 331 with no elemental it the wrong elemental.

1 ReplyAlso something to consider is what shields do the enemies have? While this varies from strike to strike I'd give a general guide: Primary - Burn damage Secondary - Heavy enemy shield burn / long range shield burn (ie, Minotaur, Captain, Knights) Heavy - Weak shielded enemy kill (Shanks, Psions) If one of your equipment slots is lacking try and remember that you can use it as a shield breaker.

Immensely helpful. With a void burn it makes the Atheon Epilogue useful, that is until you get a Word of Crota. But still the epilogue is good for fast damage crowd control/suppressing fire.

im not sure how much it is increased by but my 300 predeyth revenge did 47xx while my maxed black hammer did 35xx or somewhere around those numbers on crit shot nexus. black hammer has higher attack and impact than pradeyth
