What the fück, guys. This shouldn't be happening. He was 33 years old-- way too young. And as I aspire to be an animator, this man was a role model of mine for all the awesome shit he's done. Now before you go and say "oh, you never knew him personally, how can you be affected in anyway?" or "People die in Africa everyday, bruh, get over it," know that I just... I don't know how to react to this. Death is a subject I have the most trouble with, because I have the least experience with it-- none of my close family has passed yet (ironic that the word "death" is in my name). Hell the closest understanding I have to death is what I can pull from movie's and video games. But what I do know about death is life. Life is precious. I'd hate to be cliché, but in a universe made mostly of nothing any form of something is something to celebrate. Especially life, which is the apex of all existence and should be cherished indefinitely.
Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel something for Monty Oum not because I know what death is like but because I know a little something of what life is like. And it seems that Monty knew a little something about life too.
