When will PvP lag/delayed kills be fixed?

Destiny has been out for a good while now and no attention has been directed to fixing any of the annoying lag issues within crucible/PvP!!! I'm not the only one that knows about this issue. Near enough all my friends that I play crucible with and others are constantly going up against the same problem 85% of the time. I have very good internet and so does all of my friends. It must be something to do with Netcode or destiny servers just simply can't handle the amount of players online hmm.. I really hope the bungie dev team turn their attention to fix this connection issue for PvP so that gun fights run more smoothly. Please feel free to comment if you agree and have experienced the same problems, so maybe they will take notice! Thanks!

  • I don't know, but there needs to be a ban on Shotguns on The Anomaly map.

    • How comes people are randomly commenting on this post now? I made this post in December lol Anyways I still think they need to fix it!!! Also they need to add private servers for comp games and option for barebones to get rid of the ridiculous amounts of supers, heavy weapons, shotguns and fusion rifles!! Then we can focus on actual gun skill!

    • Never. Every online multiplayer game experiences lag. It's just what it is.

      • If you die due to lag. (Get a kill then die). Feel lucky because that's a battle you actually lost but got a kill for it. It will never be resolved as they want everyone to play.

      • It's poor net coding, which is extremely ironic considering Call Of Duty (owned by the same company) is massive for multiplayer PvP matches

        • So you're asking when something in PVP will be fixed when the VOG and Crota still have bugs that plague people every week. I think you forgot the #satire.

          • Oh they are not going to do squat about the network issues in the PVP.

          • Its downright atrocious at times. Red bar superstars ignoring enough damage to kill them twice yet enduring the bullets to get an easy 1 hit kill. Teleporters and wall runners look funny, but waste your time and allow other players to get easy kills while your attempting to kill someone the host has lost. Better host selection and a ping-first matchmaking system would be great.

            • I get annoyed because it makes some players immune to damage, or rather, by the time the damage starts registering they've taken cover and moved on leading to some seriously strange amounts of assists I've seen guys with 23 assists and 10 kills yet everyone else has 3-6 assists Then there's the guys that run in a straight line, your whole team shoots and they keep running and just disappear, then 2 mins later it says they left

            • If it's peer to peer then "Netcode or destiny servers" will have little to do with lag issues. It's more about the matchmaking to ensure that the spread of pings to a host is within "reasonable" and that the average ping of the remote connections is low enough that the host doesn't get host advantage. Lot's of statistics to balance, lots of upper and lower limit definitions to play with. (call this "netcode" if you want, but its a meaningless word) I feel that the problems at the moment are mainly caused by 2 things: The spread of acceptable pings is too high (this leads to whole teams of low pings vs high pings - high pings win every time because lag) The number of outliers allowed is too high (ie, if 91.66% of a server has a low ping a single high ping player will be allowed in because their ping doesn't get filtered out as unacceptable, this player gains a massive advantage) TL;DR - it's not "netcode" it's filtering where too high a bandwidth is being allowed in the matchmaking algorithms. This could be fixed by reducing the filter bandwidth HOWEVER this may be something that is predetermined by the console manufacturers and completely out of the control of Destiny. (because Sony & MS both want even people with crappy pings to be able to "enjoy the same experience" as people who actually pay for decent internet, and in this case this means that they would have to throttle back on the game speed for the rest of us (ie, introduce artificial or input lag) in order to make it less noticeable to the players with decent networks)

              • Just had two matches where a few players on the enemy team were lagging and teleporting around meanwhile my team was spraying wildly to try to kill them because they were teleporting so much

              • Hopefully it will take a LONG time. I find bugs which produce horrendously unrealistic behavior to be absolutely hilarious, and no i'm not being sarcastic when I say that.

                • Just so you know, Bungie do not use dedicated servers for Crucible. Its all Peer to Peer. Its pretty obvious, and they did the same with all their Halo games. Its Bungie being tight with money, yet they made a fortune on this game.

                  • Considering about 50% of lobbies I enter are people with red bar connections, I can't help but feel this isn't entirely Destiny's fault.

                    • I get tired of it myself. I have killed people seen them go down then all the sudden I am down by then from a melee even though they are already dead. I figured it happens to other people also since I get postmordom kills all the time especially with melee. I am not sure how I smack somebody after I am dead even though when I did it I was alive on my screen and I thought I just didn't hit them at first but now I have kinda gotten used to it. I am guessing it is kinda like BF4 which I have major problems with lag also. I have full bars on Destiny and it seems most of the players I see in crucible have nothing or almost nothing as far as the connection bars go. I also noticed that in BF4 I have a 20-23 ms ping and most of the other players I would see would have 250ms ping and higher I have even seen them as high as 3200ms ping.
