So Bungie doesn't want players to play solo
So Bungie is trying to force players to playing in teams by making nightfall and weekly heroic strikes harder on solo and easier for teams.
What about the players who cannot find a fireteam, or who just prefer to play solo?
Bungie is removing a legit and functional way to play this game (solo) which did not hurt the players who wanted to play it differently (as a team) to force everybody to comply with their concept of how their game must be played. They are forcing their will on the players. They are changing the game so that it can only be played they want it to be played. They are forcing everybody to submit to their will.
The attitude, the mindset Bungie is displaying here is mind boggling and plain disgusting.
Curses at you for that, Bungie.

Totally agree, I play mainly PvE on Solo and I've noticed that Bungie have definately pushed the PvP part more. i.e is there any way to do an Exotic bounty that does not include having to do Crucible matches? not that I've seen. I really want to try VoG and the Weekly Nightfall etc but I am finding it really difficult to arrange groups willing to join up and help out. Oh, and the chat options are just awful! It should not be that difficult to setup a chat with the team you are playing with! Managed to join a group to do VoG for the first time the other day, it all started great until the team decided that there was too much lag due to the group chat being used, they then all left the group chat and join the game chat??? After that I just could not get my chat to link up to the rest of the team and the whole thing ended up in a disaster! Whats the best option for chat settings on XBOX One?

I'd love to work with a Fireteam but I'm solo because I don't have any friends with a PS4 let alone 5 of them with Destiny. I'm wondering if there's any point to buying the expansion packs if I still wont be able to take part in half of the content or get past level 29.

I don't think I should have to jump through 3rd party hoops in order to play the game I payed for. I ran last weeks nightfall post patch, and it's not that much harder, but still...

6 RepliesI'm not an excellent player, nor the paradigm of what a solo player should be, but I solo the Nightfalls just about every week. I do this out of selfishness, in a sense, because I'm tired of people sandbagging and getting the best drop of the run. I know, I'm terrible. But, I also do it because it is ultimately more challenging than doing the raid with a competent team. When I solo the Nightfalls, I have to actually play. When I raid with my clan or my other group of friends, its always smooth and generally easy. With the recent patch, I did notice that the Nightfall was quite a bit of a bigger pain than usual. It isn't impossible to do solo now, nowhere close to impossible. Just a giant pain in the ass. Onto your point, I do agree with you. The Nightfall should, logically, be mitigated for those who choose to play solo since there is no matchmaking for those activities. Either by reducing the HP of enemies or the sheer number of enemies(the latter, preferably). Instead, they made something that is already easier with 3 people...even easier with 3 people. I won't lie when I say that I've lost a lot of hope for what this game would become. I'm giving it until the next two patches. If some changes aren't made that are logical and what they actually have already promised(numerous exotic buffs, random bugs) or things that they haven't even acknowledged like raid bugs, I may be finding myself migrating to something new. I haven't decided yet, but I won't ragequit over anything. I'm just letting them show what they've got and if I'm not satisfied then I will politely show myself out.

I prefer to solo things - I play at odd hours and don't always have friends on. It's bad enough that I've only been able to do the raid a handful of times - it's downright annoying that activities that used to be soloable given sufficient time and caution are now vastly less so. Most of the changes Bungie has made since release are to take away strategies people have devised to mitigate bugs/glitches/etc. or to be able to play the game when they can't find a group since there's no group-finding component that's native to the game. As just one example, removing the ability to use the platform in the Aksor strike is silly since there's a vandal who spawns and can snipe people under the platform - even people crouching down the slope - and one-shot them.

I think this game is sorely some kind of party system it needs a party board in the tower where players can simply petition for a fireteam to do a specific task like the Vault of Glass or anything else for that matter where you could put you name on a list with a comment of what the fireteam is to accomplish players could check the board and just join the team from there and while their waiting they can just do whatever they don't have to stay in the tower and when the party is full the server does a ready check and players have the option of giving the green light or withdrawal then with a full party either the party leader or the server starts the mission and server pulls everyone from where ever they are to the start point I think some like this would serve both the solos and the parties in the very least you would have the option of either.

Oh and btw they did not make 3 man weekly or nightfall easier. Just a bunch of bs IMO. bungie start fixing bugs and less trolling your community.

Wouldn't be that bad if people still played this game. When I first got this game. 2nd week of release. My friends list doubled. Now they are all online just not in Destiny. Hard to make a game that is co-op when you don't do anything to foster cooperation. They are giving us no incentive to want to play cooperatively but forcing us to do so. Which has caused a lot of bad behavior. Teammates should WANT to play together if they don't you get people AFK loot robbing and speed running not waiting for teammates. Don't know how they can still call it a co-op game if everyone is off doing their own thing.

2 RepliesIn my opinion I don't think Bungie really knew what kind of game they were creating or the players it would attract or more to the point just how savvy players are at figuring out and beating supposedly hard to beat scenario. Again in my opinion this is why the focus has been on the PvP side. It's not prejudice against the solo player or the player that focus on the PvE side but because that's really all they are prepared to deal with or know how to deal with. This is why in PvE their only solution to players becoming stronger is to nerf weapons,gear and abilities and make the enemy soak up more damage than what they do already. You can call them lazy. You can say they lack imagination or ingenuity both may of which be true judging from what I have witnessed. At the very least I hold out hope that they can pull it together for D2 but that hope is fading and at least if I look at it in a "the glass is half full" perspective Destiny will be a road map for the next game developer of what NOT to do.

I was pretty pissed about this too. I always solo the nightfall and like doing so because I don't have to worry about ressing downed teammates or anything like that. I don't know how they find it acceptable to NERF all of our gear and then BUFF enemies and make strikes harder! I honestly want to slap whoever is in charge of all these updates. Every update I feel like they must be joking... I used to really enjoy Destiny, but they never solve or address any large issues the community brings up (unless it's -blam!-ing PVP), and they never fix issues that they promised they would (buffing Bad Ju Ju, Thorn, Mythoclast etc.). It's increasingly apparent that they could give a shit about the loyal community of players. I've put so many hours into Destiny and all of it feels wasted... Good thing Dragon Age comes out today.

1 ReplyThey want people to play in teams, but refuse to patch-in matchmaking. Something about that just doesn't seem right. They can sort by levels in the normal strike playlists, but can't on the weekly or nightfall? Or the raid? Every playlist strike I'm in sets me up with 2 other people within 1 level of myself, which means they have some kind of sorting system built into their current matchmaking code. So, why not apply the same logic for the weekly heroic, nightfall, and raid, with the matchmaking cap set at the recommended level for the activity? It can't be that difficult to implement - the code is already there. I truly do not understand this system of letting people use matchmaking for PvP and strike playlists, but making them find their own group for the main endgame content. Imagine if you had matchmaking for the normal crucible stuff, but had to find your own team of 6 people to play the weekly promoted crucible matches (or whatever is shown off to the top left on the navigation page). It just does not make sense.
