Ok title sounds a bit extreme but hear me out.
Every time we bite the dust in the middle of a firefight (PVE or PVP), we lost a nasty chunk of our ammo complement.
Now for PVP this would be a fair feature, but for PVE I feel it is quite unacceptable.
You're in the nightfall, you've got armor set up to give you a hefty complement of rockets or LMG ammo. You get ready to engage the Mega Turtle (you know, the big lazy dude with infinite arm pit rockets), then suddenly you get blind sided by a psion's wicked little Psionic blast of doom.
Well crud, you're dead. No worries, you've got a battle buddy to pick you up and get right back into the fight (or in some cases as a sunsinger you can just resurrect yourself).
But wait, where did your rockets go? You had 8, but now you're down to two.
You also noticed that your fusion rifle ammo count has diminished a big bit as well. No worries right? We have ammo synths!
You use the ammo synth for your rocket launcher, but unfortunately just as you finished using it you get blind sided by a massive barrage of arm pit rockets.
You get back up again and guess what? That ammo has all but disappeared...again.
The point is players are feeling like they're getting punished for dying when dying is a part of the game (it happens to everyone).
In PVE, you SHOULD NOT lose ammo if you are revived by a team mate, or self resurrect yourself after being blasted. It places the player into an unfair disadvantage against a bullet sponge boss who has a massive back up army (most of which are also bullet sponges).
If any of you reading this agree, or have other suggestions please feel free to share, comment, and bump this. If you've seen people placing suggestions in other threads, please feel free to post the link to said thread in the comments section :D
Sincerely,

EDIT: According to some of the players here in the forum, this is the result of a bug caused by ammo increasing gear.
Keep Up the feedback ladies and gents!

His name isn't "turtle dude" it's Rockets McDickface
-
It's the raid boots. The perk that let's you hold extra heavy ammo glitches when you die. They need to fix it or make heavy ammo synthesis free to make up for it
-
Failure should be punished
-
U dont lose that many rockets and u can only have 7 max with extra armer thing to hold more ammo so stop whining and play the game
-
As I am an avid player of dark souls I think penalties for failures are good
-
Ok while your point is fair in some forms you must see that if every time you died you didn't loose all your ammo then you would very clearly have the massive advantage in the firefight and nuke everything quick and the night fall would not longer be the sickening face palm generator it is, it would turn into that lovely morning breeze as you walk through the park in summer for some sun and serenity, I want shit storm city not a night in the Bahamas personally.
-
Its a punishment for dying. It doesn't really bother me
-
Stop dying. Deej, don't fix it. There needs to be some penalty for dying.
-
Thats all just bad luck
-
For real? Mega Turtle? And wtf is your math issue? If you have 8 and die you come back with what ever is not equipped. Because when you die you drop your weapon losing the ammo held within it. So I'm you had 8 and you have a 3 tube you will lose those 3 and only those 3 leaving you with 5. Surely you can't expect to die and have no penalty what so ever. No one can be that silly.
-
How is this in anyway DeeJs fault?
-
Mega Turtle?
-
I couldn't agree more. One other thing aswell is it does exactly the same thing if you switch to another weapon of the same class. I understand they often have different ammo capacity but that doesn't really account for how much is lost for switching. On another note I -blam!-ing love this game and have very little issue with anything in it ( especially as I got gjallahorn from nightfall yesterday :))

Edited by Charles, Seeker of Tomboys: 1/21/2015 11:54:49 AMSame reason why you'd be punished for dying irl I assume...
-
I think is good you get punished for dying. It makes you play smart. Nightfalls and weekly is supose to be harder, so play smarter.

People complain so much making this game too easy when you die your supposed to be punished cause you died stop going Rambo
-
Failure should be punished in destiny.
-
Death is not only unavoidable, death is essential. Rise like a phoenix from the ashes of your shattered folly, stronger and wiser, and ready to kick some arse!
-
Why? It gives you a reason not to die? Why would you want the game made easier? It can't be amour bug because it happens without it. But even if it was it should stay in game why would you want the game making easy?
-
Weirdly if you go down to zero and die again you get free ammo in the vault of glass.
-
You know in some online games you would also lose everything in your inventory.
-
U get punish for dying? Here's a thought DONT DIE!!
-
Im sorry kid. This is an MMO like game. Not CoD or Halo. Dont like it? Quit. You wont be missed.
