One of the things always promised for Destiny was character customization. Then the game came out and as everyone knows, it fell short of what was promised. I've collected so many armors in game, and I've grown fond of the design of some pieces, but I will never use them because it is too low leveled and doesn't really provide the benefits I needed etc.
So to anyone customization is one of the things that truly makes you feel unique in games. One game that got it right was DCUO, "DC Universe Online", they had a Equipment Tab and then next to it a Style Tab. With the Style Tab you could choose past "styles" to wear over your Equipment. So say you got an amazing new chest piece, but you really hate the way it looks. You can go to style and overlay the armor to look like any of the past armors you have worn. While I played that game I always bought every armor or piece of clothing I could just so I could make sure I always had all the options for a cool character available. In that game I literally never found a character just like mine. You could at any time change your hair and skin-type/face. So why are such basic features not in a game like Destiny that celebrates you for being a Guardian who is like no other guardian when you look exactly the same.
Destiny needs a feature like this to truly make us feel unique because at the moment, I look at myself and feel awesome, but then another player walks by and has ALL THE SAME -blam!- and I feel much less of a customized individual.
If they did do this I could understand not being allowed to wear multiple "Exotic Styles" because that would create characters that are fully decked out in full exotic armor, and it wouldn't make sense. So all BUNGiE would have to do is limit your armor to one "Exotic Style" and it would solve everything. Only thing that wouldn't have a style would be class items (Cloaks/Marks/Bonds). Which are not part of the style tab due to them being a style specific armor piece.

Everyone's Guardian looks the same, but if Bungie did this, it would change everything! Destiny: Armor Skins! Check it out! http://youtu.be/podg2aX--wI

Bump. This would be excellent. I myself played DC Universe online and loved how they did that. Like you said, made your Chester that more unique of you and 20 other players had the same equipment. Shaders aren't enough. But let's see what happens

Makes me cry everytiem

Totally agree. Let's see this happen soon please Bungie!

This game is sadly unfinished, and is probably a beta for Destiny 2. I'm sure they just wanted to test the waters, to see if people will buy a new IP from Bungie. But Destiny should be the game they promised us.

These are some great ideas. Brother, keep on hoping. Don't stop believing. [Insert song here]

That's a lot like transmogrifying in world of Warcraft. It's a nice idea, but it doesn't affect me much because I don't look at my character as much in destiny (first person everywhere but the tower).
