I also suffer from PTSD and been sent to the mental Hospital a few times. Not because of war, mostly because my best friend was murdered right in front of me and countless years of constant bullying. Videogames help numb the pain and it helps distract me from my past. So I know how it feels like to suffer.

PTSD is PTSD. It sucks. Stay positive

Try not to get isolated though. I was bullied at school but the worst I had was getting beat up and having my dinner money stolen each day. Getting someone murdered in front of you is just... mind blowing. Actually bullying was the main reason I took up martial arts and then joining the armed forces. Once again though, diversion therapy does help reduce the constant pressure of life. Just don't let it cut you off from it entirely though as it is too easy to do (and yeah, I'm being a bit hypocritical here because that's what happened to me).
