Ok so first off, go ahead and select the poll choice that best suits your reaction to the new Destiny Strike Mission video! First off, let's remember one thing. This video was definitely not representative of a lot of the gameplay, in that it's a Strike Mission, not a Patrol Area or the Arena. As such, a lot of the great content that (I personally believe) makes up Destiny was not displayed at all. That being said, here are my thoughts on it: I feel that this video was particularly over-hyped, in that Bungie was promising a huge reveal. However, aside from disappointment in what I wanted to see, I have to admit that the gameplay was pretty solid, and looked like it could totally be great fun with some buddies. Weapons looked fantastic, they definitely were perhaps the coolest thing to me in the video. The variety of options for your gun looked great. Now some people might complain about how linear it was, but again, remember that it's a Strike Mission. By definition, it's the purposely linear mode in the game. Here are my complaints: 1. The gameplay looked extremely easy. It seemed like it was a Halo or any other game at minimum difficulty, allowing the players to simple stroll in the breeze through the level. Nothing looked particularly challenging, or brought the Fireteam together to face off in an epic battle against the Fallen. That being said, it's possible that this could be an early-level Strike Mission or something of that sort, which effectively excuses that complaint. 2. I suppose this complements the previous comment, so I won't make a big deal on it: the player's health seemed extremely generous. They were soaking up hits better than Chuck Norris in his own movies. It was somewhat painful to see how simple and invincible the Guardians looked, but again, I'll excuse it. 3. Old Russia. I mean, I'm glad that they're saving stuff in order to preserve the excitement for us when we play the final copy, but with a video that short and straightforward, they could've taken us to another part of Earth. Mixed feelings I guess, but was somewhat disappointed. Now the good thing about the video was although it was a Strike Mission, and didn't show what I believe to be core elements of the game, it does give you something of a taste for the Patrol areas and multiplayer. Facing off against fellow Guardians with those awesome abilities and weapons will be a complete blast, and getting a small peek at what the worlds in Destiny are like up close was really neat. Everything looked solid, abilities were sweet, guns were amazing, seeing customized Guardians in actual action was pretty neat... everything painted a picture of what's coming up, and it's pretty exciting. Anyway - Enough of me! Tell me what you thought of the trailer! I want to hear what the fellow Guardians have to say of their upcoming adventure.
