Impersonating

In our drop-down menu for hiding and muting we have some pretty bad things. But in the code of conduct impersonating other users is also against the rules. I have already had three different people copying my username and avatar for the purpose of trying to make me look bad. If this is against the code of conduct and you ARE going to allow people to change their name to one already in use (which I see NO reason for... it cannot possibly ever be used for anything beneficial), then can we at least make sure we can report these instances so they can be taken care of by the moderators themselves? Me hiding these people doesn't stop them from proclaiming they're me to everybody else that wouldn't think to check their profile.
change their name to one already in use (which I see NO reason for... it cannot possibly ever be used for anything beneficial),
It means that you can use the username of someone that has been inactive for years. My username would have been unavailable to me if we weren't allowed to do it, and it would be in use by.. no one. I'm not entirely clear on this, but I think it eliminates the need for auto-deleting accounts. Your username no longer etches a unique mark on the website, so when and if you decide to leave you'll be as memorable as a fart in the wind... and you wont piss off the next guy that tries to use your username, especially if it isn't unique.
