My only worry is that as humans we will become so secular in our relationships that interpersonal communication will be entirely filtered by technology. The ability to talk and hold a conversation In person with even the most benign of technology, even if it was intended to bring us together..... Examples of this are people choosing to text than call eliminating the use of the vocal chord. Texting communication is also not a true as actual vocal exchanges between individuals. In voice communication there is an obvious cadence to your tone which relays your true emotions and feelings toward the other person, communication via text has no vocal clues to a persons feelings and as such many people can have longer than natural time to respond to a idea, or pretend to be someone they are not.... Then when the individuals engage in verbal communication the conversation often becomes awkward and slow. This is a technology designed to help interconnect ourselves and in turn has put a damper on our social capabilities. I feel that a "Sex robot" would be catastrophic over its induction into our society will have detrimental effects on our social and communication skills. This is due to it replacing such a carnal need that is hard wired into our DNA to reproduce. In effect I fear it might lead to the path were reproduction is strictly controlled due to us being so connected with technology that we are no connected with each other..... This reminds me of the term "Chivalry is dead" where we do things in our current society that would not have only abhorred our ancestors a mere 100-200 years ago, but were unthinkable. They could not possibly imagine how much our world would change.... And us along with it.
