Why the hell are people already joining factions?
Why do people join groups and create threads about how awesome their faction is and why everyone should join it?

As far as I know the only in-game reference to a faction we've seen is the Seven Seraphs logo on this character's [url=http://youtu.be/EwOUi4JDC4o?t=2m29s]helmet[/url].
But there are already faction-fanboys who praise things we know little to nothing about.
Come on 7th column, you're better than this. At least wait until we know what the factions stand for and how they will work in Destiny.

They are just being impatient and NEED something to talk about. I don't understand what the factions would actually be for or accomplish, except more B.net superiority complex syndrome. All I know for sure is, I have no desire to claim any not knowing anything about anything.

Yeah i just read a thread about a faction and was confused as to whether it was a real faction within the game or merely made up by somebody for the forums.

We do know the names and the logos of the fractions and it is more than likely they would not affect gameplay seeing as how that is the role of the classes. So we argue over which one has a cooler feel so far. That is also probably why most people are in favor of The New Monarchy and Dead Orbit (which is the best orbit btw) because their names and images imply more than the other three.

4 RepliesWhy not? This is what's going to drive Destiny forward. It's going to be Human interactions, tribes, factions and a mess of backstabbing. That's what drive's EVE online. You should check out Cracked.com when they talk about how the GoonSwarm destroyed the Band of Brothers by infiltrating them and setting them up for a fall and then they themselves were betrayed by their own founder. If that really happened then oh man what a drama that must've been. I'm pretty excited for these Factions and I can hardly wait to read up on their adventures and trials in the forums.

I saw the same thing too, and I really don't understand why everyone is doing that. I heard someone say that they get to summon meteorites by phase walking if you join Dead Orbit.

It'll be the same as always with groups; only a couple will actually make it past 3 months, and the ones that do, actully have something to offer the community.

Me and my pals sometimes make little groups, but we don't call them Factions. In my head I just call it a Fire team, because at the most we only had like 5 people at a time.
