No special ammo at start of Trials

Am I the only one that thinks Bungie is punishing skilled snipers? The way this was explained sure sounds like it to me. [quote]The match begins, and you’re on the run. There are plenty of ways to avoid a sniper battle at the beginning of the rounds. But instead of telling idiots to stop running into bullets they take the bullets away. Makes perfect sense. Bungie is ruining this game...

    • I am not disagreeing with you. The sniper definitely had the better strategy. But to a scrub such as myself, I am pretty excited to have a primary battle rather than a sniper battle, it just feels like it's going to be more fun.

      • "Skilled snipers" good one, sniping is the easiest thing in this game to use, "skilled ones" don't exist, just people who can use a gun with short range scopes, no sway, no flinch when shot(hardly any) and insane aim assist, yeah, sniping sounds super hard, it's so easy.

        • I'm glad they're doing this. I've always hated trials because it's unbalanced. It was either thorn and last word or thousand yard stares. Maybe now it'll be playable.

        • I get that it is a kick in the nuts to skilled snipers- Im not surprised about any salt posted on the forums after the update. Imo, it will make Trials MUCH more exciting. A lot of new strategies executed at fast pace will come from this change. I definitely will not miss running to whichever maps sniper spot, waiting for a head to pop out, chucking grenades back and forth, etc.. Its gotten really old and I have only been playing trials a month.

              • Oh no!!! People are encouraged to use primary weapons rather than a one hit kill weapon. Ah shit. It looks like people will have to play more competitively rather than play a boring ass snipe off. You want to use your sniper? You are going to have to fight for that special ammo. No more easy spawn kills or one hit to the body with a sniper then switch to MIDA and one hit for an easy kill. Snipers have plagued Trials for long enough. Now let the people who actually want to play a competitive game in trials play the game.

                  • Two guns were used in year 1. At this point you can use any weapon and succeed. All your post shows is that you're upset that you can't snipe for like 4 minutes. Not only is that extremely biased but it shows that you just like quick kills. Primaries take too long to kill. 3 precision burst with any pulse kills, 3-4 headshots with almost all scouts kill, 2 headshots and a body shot with any hand cannon kills. 16-9 headshots with almost all autos kill. Fact is with precise aim these weapons all kill in less than a second. A 1 second time to kill is too slow for you?

                  • Dude there are some skilled snipers out there that literally use snipers for every single engagement. Fact is you know that special isn't balanced, you like sniping so you will never say it. That's the case for a lot of snipers out there and they'll never respectfully say so. Special weapons are one hit kills, you shouldn't be able to constantly use them. Trials is based on special weapons, and it's going to be funny to see how people deal with this.

                  • Wait a minute....when is this update supposed to take place??? Cuz I've ran 2 characters through all the trials bounties and not one time was my sniper ammo missing at the beginning. See I know for sure because first round yesterday, like a 5 year old waking up Christmas morning, I ran out expecting a primary weapon fight....boom headshot....I guess someone checked their ammo supply and it wasn't me. It was a very hilarious moment to b honest lol I was quite stunned to say the least.

                    • I can't -blam!-ing wait. Now I can freely use a -blam!-ing primary weapon and not worry that some shit kid is gonna still get the headshot off even after I've hit him with a few rounds. Also there are only very few skilled snipers most noobs rely on shortgayz and the high aim assist, and if you are one you should also be highly skilled in most other categories. [spoiler]Btw sidearms will be unaffected by the special ammo update and you can use nlb ;)[/spoiler]

                      • Yeah, the aim assist was so greatly complained about, that they thought the best thing to do, was to nerf green ammo and not the 1kys aim assist. To be honest, there is nothing that bungie could ever do to stop complaints from crucible players.... Unless, they were to separate pve and pvp content for most pvp gametypes, excluding a mayhem madness mode where supers, and pve guns would be allowed. But bungie isn't smart enough to do that. They like coming on these forums looking for things to nerf, and are literally wasting their time with the nerf stupidity. But who am I to say? I am not bungie, so I can only talk about what bungie should do/shouldn't do. It's sad to see bungie even wasting their time nerfing things, balancing things and such, it's all so unnesessary! As many people have said, time and time again, don't nerf things, give us new and better stuff to play with. Well i think that's everything i wanted to say, so i'll stop here, I can always dream.

                          • "Skilled sniper" with 1000 yard stare hidden hand snapshot/QuickDraw shortgaze sure does take a lot of skill especially of how much your cross-air sticks to their head. Yeah very skilled indeed

                            • they are taking away shotgun ammo and your response is wheres my sniper ammo? they cant do both, reduce shotgun spam and give u more sniper ammo. Its called a secondary, 2, dos, deuce. Round one is a primary battle, noone is punishing you.

                              • I've been a day one player on destiny, I put up with all the shit that's happened and all the changes which followed, however the worst change is going to be this starting crucible games without special ammo? What are you thinking Bungie? It's just pathetic. So for that reason I'm out! Goodbye !
