Fallout 4 and Vault-Tec

Anyone else find Vault-Tec and the lore behind them very interesting? It would be pretty cool to see DLC that digs deeper into them and their vaults. A buddy and I were playing around with an idea that a completely preserved vault lies under the water that we have yet to discover. Maybe the experiment is much like the mini-series Ascension ,where the dwellers believe they're on a self-sustaining space station orbiting around an uninhabitable Earth. I should note that fallout 4 is my first experience with the series so a similar idea may already exist in previous games. What do you guys think?

  • I like the whole Vault Tec thing. They are like this mysterious evil, mega corporation (think McDonalds), who will do anything to serve their agenda. I really want to see more done with them.

    • Vault-Tec seem like jerks to the dwellers. They appear to always have some sort of trick or experiment in store for them. While it's cruel that they do this, it makes me wish for a new thing in Fallout Shelter based around the experimentation of Vault-Tec. I think that in Fallout Shelter there should be a sanity system for vault dwellers. If there is an unbalance of things in the vault then they would become crazy and do things like kill other dwellers, or becoming lazy when working. There should also be diseases added to the game, and a new labratory or clinic to produce medicine to cure the diseases. Disease should not happen in vaults with a low population, but begin happening in larger populated vaults. I think this would be an interesting mechanic. Attacking other vaults would also be cool. It could become a thing where you can send out a Fireteam of people to together into the wasteland and order them to attack other places. It could have some PvP elements, but I would be thinking it would mostly be against vaults inhabited by super mutants, raiders, or ghouls.

    • You know what would be cool for a DLC? Clothing. armor like elder Maxson battle coat over some combat armor and some under clothing like the BOS uniform. I got this idea when I saw the minute general's uniform.

If you go to the Vault-Tec HQ in Boston, you find terminals with the workers personal logs and how they were becoming suspicious and one of the workers opened the containers Labeled Vault 111 and found thousands of gallons of liquid nitrogen. They did the same with vault 95 I believe when the found the large shipment of drugs. The People who worked there had no clue what was going on.

            • The lore behind a lot of the vaults have been fleshed out the most memorable being: Vault 69- 99 girls 1 man Vault 68- 99 men 1 girl Vault 101- one of the control groups, you exit this vault in Fallout 3. Vault 21- A vault where they put F.E.V. in plants to try and make them work better in wasteland environments. Vault 83? (I'm pretty sure... it was the one surrounded by radiation in FO3.) Vault 75- This vault was in the subway system in fallout 4, it was made to be a test for the lower to middle class, what they did was make a crazy commoner, who ate more than his fair share of abraxo and turpentine for one person, was put in charge of a bunch of high class people. Every single vault was a social experiment made to test the mental states of people. I just want another DLC like the one in Fallout 3, Mother ship Zeta? That one was cool. I also liked Old World Blues in Fallout New vegas... The DLCS to date in all of the more recent fallout games have taken you to... In fallout 3: Space - Mother ship zeta. Pittsburgh- The Pitt Someplace in florida- Point lookout. Alaska- Operation ancorage. There was also the one that made fallout 3 a "never ending" game. Fallout: new Vegas Grand canyon- dead money Big mountain - old world Blues Death vally-Lonesome road And the one that took you to the gambling village... I forgot the name of it. Sorry for the long post, it's just that fallout is easily my favorite series.
