My Thoughts on Weapons

I feel like destiny is somewhat moving in the right direction with balancing. Although it is still far from perfect and will never be perfect imo but that is not to say it can still be a competitive game. I've noticed in 6v6 games its all dominated by mida multi tool and sliding shotguns. While 3v3 is dominated by tlw and 1000yard. [b]Primaries[/b] [i]Handcannons[/i] are where they should be except the all mighty last word. I believe it shouldn't have full auto or a slower ROF. Range is where it should be. [i]Scouts[/i] are still a tad underwhelmed unless using mida. IMO the mida is by far the easiest gun to get kills with in a 6v6 match. It's easy to aim and fires at the rate of a snakebite. [i]Pulse[/i] rifles got the nerf they deserved and I believe they are balanced correcly. [i]Autos[/i] are not what they used to be and that is good. I believe they can still be used effectively up close like they were intended. The doctrine of passing is a scary gun up close but can be easily countered. [b]Special[/b] [i]Snipers[/i] have always been OP but every good pvp game has em and they are all good. The 1000yard is a bit of a notch too good but with everything else they need to be powerful to counter all the tough primaries. I would like to see some of the auto aim or hitting a head shot 2 feet above a guardians head toned down though. I beleive the biggest issue with snipers is the lack of a considerable flinch. I know this is off topic but i like what halo did to their sniper. Shotguns are nerfed and still unreal with the power and range. I know everyone here has been hit with a party crasher from a football field away. The slide shotgun is still devestating and hard to counter. Blink shotgun and shadestep shotgun near impossible to counter in a 6v6 match when things are in full motion. RANGE still needs a nerf on a few models and something needs to be done with the blink and slide techniques. [i]Fusions[/i] and [i]Sidearms[/i] are niche weapons for a few folks and hold little ground in the pvp game. The fusion needs a boost to charge rate to counter shotgun. I know a lot of people will hate on what I have to say but attempt to combat my response with actual debates instead of hate or crying. Thanks, Loyal Guardian

  • I agree mostly but 1000 Yard Stare and pretty much any other sniper can be combatted easily with a scout rifle unless the person with the snipes is some kind of pro. Throughout both ToS and IB I've noticed people sniping me tend to back down a lot when I'm using a scout rifle and vice versa - I flinch like crazy and can't hit them when I'm using a sniper rifle. But yeah, I love the constant rebalancing of the weapons in this game. They're doing a great job. Now if only they could do something about kids whining "they nerfed this and now it's shiiit!"
