I never thought I'd write a thread like this, sadly that day has come.
I don't have a twitter account, nor do I plan on making one just for you Bungie.
I actually checked this time when Iron Banner would be ending, you originally reported that it would be at reset. Little did I and most of your player base know that around 4pm today you changed the time from reset to midnight. This notice should be when you sign in, or at least posted on bungie.net or even on the forums.
You screwed us, an once again this game has left me feeling terrible and disappointed. Destiny shouldn't continue to make me feel that way.
This game was once amazing, an I truly enjoyed it at one point in time, but year two has just continued to frustrate me beyond belief.
I've purchased all the DLC, and even bought Silver, I've only purchased the zombie dance, I still have 1500 unspent. I purchased Silver to support the developers of a game I enjoy, but I no longer enjoy this game.
My fiancé and I already started to cut our play time. We've stopped doing raids, night falls are pointless, an I have nothing to spend marks on so everything mark related is a waste of time. We played for IB this week, but after tonight will be taking a much needed break from Destiny.
We no longer want to invest time or money into a game that leaves us both feeling salty and disappointed. So we are no longer going to preorder or purchase anything further from Bungie until we are sure it's worth doing so.
That's my feedback, an if you truly care about your player base something has got to change.

They act as if this is the first game they've ever made.... They really are a bunch of stoners and kids working up there huh
-
Also, community managers don't have the time to address the community at least once a day. Too busy managing twitter and reddit. It's a shame.
-
That was my bad. No excuses, we'll get better at improving messaging here on Bnet. Currently we don't have the ability to push messaging in game, but it's something we're working on. The in-game messaging you see now must be loaded in with updates and is not useful for telling you things that were not planned in advance.
-
Incredible how they can notify you about the friend refer but not about something like this.

Edited by StrictlyTy: 11/24/2015 8:32:07 PMI'll still never understand why people won't make a free Twitter account for free when it doesn't cost any money to stay updated. It's free. And takes 5 minutes. Edit: No shit they should let us know here, but there's an easy temporary solution as of now. So why not use what's at your disposal instead of voluntarily falling victim to something like this. In my opinion you should have been done earlier than Sunday but whatevs.

And then remember, this is just a game. Not life. You're ok and breathing. The sun came up the next morning. You say you don't want to make a twitter just for this game, yet you want information that right now the best outlet to get it to the people is twitter. Want the information you desire? Get a twitter. Otherwise, just Destiny on bro. We are all in the struggle.

Pretty much summed up a lot of feelings here.
-
Bump, well worded.
-
Great post.

Dude take break, and seek some counseling. A video game shouldn't affect one's psyche to the point where they report feeling 'terrible'.
-
-
dude, its just an hour. maybe you SHOULD take some time away from this game, get some perspective or something.
-
Who plays Iron Banner until the last microsecond it resets? I was done with IB days ago. Who cares about which second it gets reset on. You had an entire week to play it and if you don't that's your fault. A couple of hours here and there meh.
-
Not surprising. They dont know jack shit on how to communicate with their player base.
-
Bump. Got -blam!-ed by Bungie on this one, too.

Edited by TRDoug: 11/25/2015 3:36:02 PMWhat I want to know is......... We can't START playing until AFTER patch at who knows what time Tuesday afternoon..... SO.........why does the iron banner reset on Tuesday morning or Monday night whatever you want to call it??? If we can't start playing Iron Banner until late in the day on Tuesday, iron banner shouldn't end until Wednesday a.m. say the same time Banshee resets????
-
Bump.

Totally saw this coming

Same here I am really disapointed as well about this hour early reset! That's a bad move from bungie the Iron banner was the best part of the game in my opinion!

Edited by Silvurphlame: 11/24/2015 9:32:40 PMWell that sucks. I was already done with Iron by early Sunday evening, fortunately for me. They really should have made an in-game pop-up for that. You know… in the game, where people would see it without fail. I'm starting to wonder if Destiny is some sort of PR/marketing/psychology experiment after all. Some of the things Bungie does are just real head-scratchers.
-
This shouldn't be happening. Bungie should be posting the information here and not exclusively in Twitter.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself. Your breaking point was iron banner and mine was horrible hard mode loot drops on a consistent basis. The past two-three weeks I have only logged in on Tuesdays to run the raid with my team. Why you ask? Because my raid group is a good bunch and some of them can not afford to purchase other games. Over the last week we have banded together to realize destiny is going to stay this way for while. We have picked up a new game and hope the rest of the group joins once Christmas is over. This is a great game. It needs some tweaks and a team that cares more about the game than likes or retweets on Twitter.

Yeah dude after all the monotonous quest lines disappeared and the illusion of a good leveling system ranking up from 170 to 295 light vanished I've been non stop disappointed from this game. The frustration has only continued to build week after week seeing these asinine issues that bungie is addressing and the glaring problems they're ignoring. My frustration is just, I've paid 160 bucks collectively for this game and its expansions. They bring in TTK and cut all the previous content away by not making it relevant, that is not what I call an expansion. I bought emotes, wanted to support the Dev Team in hopes we would start seeing fixes to issues promptly and in hopes we would start seeing some quality content infusions. This studio is now driven by greed that's it plain and simple. I recently stopped playing 5 days ago and started on metal gear solid which is fantastic so far. So up until 5 days ago I hadn't played anything else except for destiny for quite awhile, I hated the lack of content in dark below but it was fun, the weapons were fun, I had weapons to chase after, and man when I finally got those weapons it was a great feeling. The house of wolves was cool to, I was hoping for a little more content but once again there were many activities that needed to be done weekly throwing PoE in the mix. I still had weapons that I need to get at that point. Eventually even after collecting the weapons I wanted I still played just because the weapons in year one were incredible. Than the TTK shows up, swords mehh they're pretty cool, all other exotics are substandard in comparison to year one's though. They added layers of RNG to the raid, the raid is fantastic by the way, yet the weapons and armor blow ass chunks. Smite of Merain is decent but not worth playing the raid every week hoping to get lucky to get a hallowed version, than hoping to get it at 318+, than hoping it's got a good stat roll. The exotics in year 2 for the most part suck, there's not a set of amazing weapons that everybody wants that's only available through random drops in the wild. Once the sugar coating wears off of the taken king you suddenly look down only to see a steaming pile of cow shit wrapped in burnt hair. They did take a step forward with certain aspects of the game but they also broke a lot more than they fixed in the process. Also this poor timed refer a friend thing is geared towards people who just picked up destiny for the first time when TTK released. If it was geared towards year one'rs than they would have dropped this program a week before the TTK came out. So yeah bungie I guess your day one players can go fūck themselves lol. Anyways here's a bump, I agreed with a lot that you had to say. Check out metal gear solid is an excellent choice, it's a finished game, and there is great value in it for a 60$ price tag.

Why not at least have a countdown timer like all the other NPC's who have reset timers? The continued lack of foresight is inconceivable and the incompetence is simply unbelievable :/
