Why Don't the Weapon Balancing Team @ Bungie Just Admit They are Clueless and Call it a Day

So I read over the weapon balancing that is coming in December and what a shocker PvE will suffer once again. We are back to exactly where we were last year this time. Let me save all the people who are going to create nerf threads come December some time. Nerf Auto Rifles, Nerf Fusion Rifles. Same time last year, the AR/FR combo was the meta in Crucible, Shotguns and Pulse Rifles were useless in PvP and PvE, and scout and snipers were the same place as they are today (unchanged) I have no clue what are all these tests Bungie conducts, but obviously they do not know what they are doing. Is it me, or are they just reversing the nerf that they did to A/R the last time they broke them. And they are reversing the Pulse Rifle buff back to when they were broken. I have no idea why Bungie insists on nerfing a weapon type into the ground so it becomes unusable. They need to start buffing just the weapons that lag behind. Buffing one class while nerfing another has not worked to date, it has always lead to one weapon type being severely broken. They are not balancing anything, we are just switching from one weapon type to another with every update.

  • Lol this game is just poop now. I love it..... But it seems only vanguard strikes are the only thing that's.... Enjoyable. Playing crucible it just.... Lame nowadays.

  • To put it simply: the last year clearly demonstrates Bungie has ANFC how to design weapons, much less, 'balance' them! (Make it great; oh oh, we made it too good, nerf it!     • Can you do any better then them? Think about it They have to somehow balance every gun in the game, Primary, special, and heavy. Along with supers that don't "out-super" others. Are there hiccups? Yes! Of course. But when you play a game such as let's say COD, COD has weapons the game gives you. Nothing that can roll with this or that perk. And there certainly isn't supers. The game balancing folk have done a much better job, IMO. They balanced a game, from a completely new and hard to use game engine bungie designed, and somehow everything seems to work in both pvp and pve (Before I get the sunbreaker hate. Yes, we know it could use tweaking. Majority the health buff, that's about it. Being a Titan main and now using my warlock more has shown just that the health buffs a little too much)

      • They have gone a bit overboard Shotguns I agree with as there are still way too many people who don't even use their primary and just shotgun from a silly range Pulses need the range nerf but not a damage nerf Autos and scouts are ok as they are Hand cannons need the buff and I think snipers should be nerfed so that aiming is much harder under fire. Yes you can slightly stagger a sniper but their reticule drops back to the exact same place which needs to change. If you get staggered you should have to rescope

        • They should just make all guns the same stats and make everyone's health the same across the board I think that's what the nerfers want!

        • The "Base damage reductions" in PvE are being countered by Increasing the base damage against AI combatants. Such as with pulse rifles [b]Increase base damage against AI combatants to 1.3x (was 1.25x). [/b] As far as the changes go with shotguns, etc.. There is no issue with those changes being implemented in PvE.

            • I don't really think they want true balance in PvP. They mentioned during the summer the idea of having seasons of weapons being the best. TDB and HoW was hand cannons, TTK so far has been pulse rifles and the next patch will be Auto rifles. Three months or so after this patch look for HC's to get buffed back to the top

            • They know exactly what they are doing. If the weapons were balanced we'd all get bored quickly. They change things up ever so often so we come back and try new setups. Bungie knows you better than you know you.

                • When a weapon gets nerfed it should only be nerfed in pvp and not pve. How Bungie can't separate the two is beyond me.

                    • Great to see I'm not alone in this. They don't have to nerf. All they have to do is slight buffs on other types till everyone can choose any type that suits them because they're all equal in power. But only if they hire real gun experts first. A shotgun shouldn't be a sniper. All gun types should have proper real life range with the exception of SF guns like the fusion. For pvp, they could just disallow the use of Fusion as one option take the pvp experience more real and more fair. Supers are another matter.

                      • They aren't clueless, they are on a fool's errand. Destiny balance is not possible. There are too many options, which have different advantages. Not just weapons, there are also supers, grenades, melees, jump, armor, recovery, agility. This is why Destiny PvP will never be meaningful. Yet Bungie keeps shoving it down our throats.

                        • We can thank the small majority who cry the loudest for things like this. Personally minus a few tweaks I think things are pretty much balanced as is right now. But rather than adjusting a few things let's redo it all because a few people rather bitch and moan than adapt. I'm not sure what is worse. The people bitching or the fact they are being listened to like they were the majority. Just because they cry louder does not mean they speak for everyone. These people cry nerf but do not see the whole picture of PvP and pve and just spew nonsense because of a rough round in pvp. It is just ridiculous. Lets nerf pulses when it already takes 2+ bursts to down somebody as it is already? Lets remove litc because you might possibly get lucky and body shot kill somebody with a sniper rifle when you already can without if they don't have full shields? Rather than slightly buff autos, fix hc accuracy, make fusions viable again, tone down shotgun distance, and make side arms better let's screw it all up because a few people did not get their way. It makes absolutely no sense at all but like with everything else let's make the majority suffer because the minority can cry louder. Go figure

                            • I sorta agree, why did they not nerf pulses say 4 %, making it 8 % is too much. Hand cannons should never have been the only primary where bloom and RNG dictates where your shots go, that was just nuts. Legendary hand cannons should be good up to medium range, otherwise they are pointless. Shotguns were fine except the felwinter / party crasher / conspiracy range type, all they had to do was nerf the range by putting a range cap of say 30 %, as the faster firing shot guns were fine. Limit special ammo amount to say 4 rounds per pick up and all would be better,
