How to hack in fallout 4?
I've played all the fallout games, but never learned how to hack, can anyone explain it to me please?

3 RepliesWhen you enter the hacking screen you will notice there are words placed among the garbage characters. Select a word and on the right hand side you will notice the word you selected and a number. This number is how many letters in the word you've selected are correct [b][i][u]AND[/u][/i][/b] in the right position. Now this is a bonus to hacking. Among the garbage characters you can find certain ones that are grouped (usually using parenthesis). If you find these and click enter on them they will either take away a word that is correct or the will reset the amount of attempts you can make in the hack. Now this is just some general advice. Always begin by TRYING for the password for 3 attempts. After the third attempt, try to find those aforementioned groups of characters until they reset you tries. [b][i][u]NEVER[/u][/i][/b] use your 4th attempt on a terminal always leave the terminal and reenter, to reattempt the hack from the beginning. 1 ReplyEdited by Slapdash_ID: 11/15/2015 6:46:41 AMOK so this is how I do it. First try to find a commonality with some of the words. If you have some that end in ER or ING target one of those. If it is an ING word for example and you get 3 matches odds are good it is an ING word. If you get zero matches you can exclude all the other words with ING at the end. Never use your last try. You can always back out and try again. When you get down to your last try start looking for what I call cheats. They are random character assortments that are bracketed with one of these characters;() [] {} <>. They will always be on the same line. An example would look like this {((.../?}. Sometimes two cheats can exist in the same line if characters like this; (...)). Both parentheses sets will count as a cheat. They will either remove a dud or refresh your tries. Never use them first thing or you risk refreshing your tries and cheating yourself out of more chances. Also if you eliminate a dud it will be replaced with periods. Sometimes this can create a new cheat password.
