Bungies just dropped the news about the return of Tess (I believe that's her name...) and the new services that the aformentioned vendor will now provide. I for one am pretty okay with the idea of non-game breaking Microtransactions that'll not only differentiate you from other Guardians, but will also add some fun / optional content. As a Destiny player any new content is a plus in my book, and with the mention of adding free quests as well... I think this is a win in my book.
