With the Marvel Cimematic Universe well into its third phase, the Transformers getting a cinematic universe of their own, the Disney princesses practically getting their own CU, and DC comics [i]finally[/i] getting to making their own CU, I think it's safe to say that we've entered the Age of Cinematic Universes. Most movies these days are getting film series set within a shared universe, probably because it can be cool to see their eventual crossover, but mainly because it can be more profitable for the companies and crew. In that case, maybe we should just make ALL of our movies into cinematic universes. So I ask you, citizens of #OffTopic, what could make a great cash-grab series in today's cinemas? It could be from existing movies, upcoming movies, or even movies that don't exist yet. My choice for such a series would be the Treehouse Comix Cinematic Universe (Captain Underpants, Ook and Gluk, and Super Diaper Baby), because we already have Marvel and DC shared universe films, so why not do that for one of the lesser known comic franchises? And seeing how Dreamworks Animation is making a film adaptation of Captain Underpants, perhaps there is a shred of possibility... [spoiler]I don't hate Cinematic Universes at all. I think the idea is really cool.
