So, Bungie is having a prominent video game voice actor redo all the lines for the ghost character. To be honest, I didn't really have a problem with Peter Dinklage's rendition, especially when there wasn't much to go on story-wise. Even if Dinklage refused to continue with voice work on the game, why rework existing lines??
Only one answer to that... Storytelling and creative ideas for handling things like actor swaps is just not their priority. If the effort in redelivering the same crap dialogue with a new actor could be put towards crafting a better narrative and delivery of that narrative, ....
We hold on to hope because we feel the potential for the game this could be, but stuff like this just rubs me the wrong way. Waiting for Mass Effect to fill that story void.

Could have been an opportunity to do something different: * introduce a new ghost because your old one died. * say your ghost upgraded to help increase your light level capacity. * say your ghost has been captured by the darkness and dismantled, so once you find and repair, it doesn't act or sound the same * say the ghost was called back to the traveller to get new guardians up and moving now that you are at a higher level.

i had no problem with his voice either but i guess if you're just starting to play, it'll be less odd than hearing your ghost all of a sudden change voice

Edited by majek: 8/4/2015 5:53:22 PMThey should have kept the original game audio and just make some joke in TTK or even better just ingore it, would be an even better joke to ignore a new voice.

Edited by Hektik: 8/4/2015 5:34:25 PMDinklage wasn't the problem. It was the piss poor writing and absolutely no direction from a director. The only reason dinklage was such a target is because he was one talking all the time. If you remember every single line "our" guardian said was made fun of too. "We go down" was mocked into the dirt. Eris was a topic of complaints for a while too. I'm sure Peter wasn't willing to keep going because his voice acting was targeted at the very beginning of the massive disappointment that is Destiny.

Cause Bungie is so greedy that they will do anything not to spend their money
