Should Bungie Buff Useless Exotic Armor in the Taken King?
Here is a list of some of the most useless exotic gear in Destiny:
[u]Titan[/u]
Insurmountable Skullfort
Helm of Inmost Light (Arguably)
The Glasshouse (Arguably, These give Bastian as a secret perk and it stacks with Bastian in skilltree)
Eternal Warrior (Arguably)
No Backup Plans
Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Don't even try to argue)
Peregrine Greaves (Arguably, for example: Arc burn and brawler)
[u]Hunter[/u]
ATS Arachnid
Knucklehead Radar (Arguably)
Young Ahamkara's Spine
Radiant Dance Machines
[u]Warlock[/u]
Apotheosis Veil (Arguably)
The Ram (Just kidding this thing is OP, please nerf)
Sunbreakers (Arguably)
Starfire Protocol (Arguably)
I think that a lot of these are "arguable" because [i]some[/i] people might like the play style with said exotic but I would say that for a majority of players most if not all of these exotics are pretty useless. There are simply better options for each of the exotics listed. So for part of my Taken King wish list I would like for all of these and any other arguably useless exotics to be buffed or changed to be equal with exotics of higher tier. If you have ideas of how to make any of these or other exotics use full please put it in the comments because your ideas are probably better than mine.

Edited by Fridén: 8/5/2015 7:47:09 PMYes. BUT: Skullforts perk is lackluster, but thats just because melee abilities are, not much you can do there. Helm of Inmost Light is amazing. It makes your titan smash even better which allows you to double dip in 2 perk trees. The only reason I don't use it more is becuase it comes with a strength role. Glass house should grant illuminated with its exotic perk. Then it would be useful. Most of the time you don't move from you bubble long enough for the increase in time to matter. Enternal warrior. This is lackluster, but I am not sure how they would buff it. No backup plans should grant strength and duration, not just duration. Mk. 44 stand asides and peregrine greaves should have been combined into 1 armor piece. Hunter ATS Arachnid is worthless. It obstructs your vision and makes it harder to use golden gun. Being an exotic armor piece that looks as awesome as this it is a shame that it is this way. Knucklehead radar is amazing. I would also use this one more if not for the strength role. Young ahamkara's spine should give a slight damage boost to your tripmines (in additonal to its signature perk.) Make it possible to kill high armer warlocks and titans. I would use this on my hunter all the time if that was the case. Radiant dance machines need to increase how much faster you move in ADS. It is hardly noticeable. Apotheosis Veil really only has it's place in crota's end. Sad to see an exotic so limited in use. I would argue that sunbreakers are fine. Bigger and longer lasting solar grenade allows you to area deny even better. May not be the greatest in the crucible (except for maybe control) but it's a great perk. Starfire protocol is amazing if you are good with fusion grenades. There are just better choices since the warlock can carry 2 of any of its sunsinger grenades anyway. It PVE it would be good to combine with touch of flame and viking funeral. The ram is an amazing exotic, but far from OP. You sacrifice agility if you want a lot of armor. Only time this piece has frustrated me is when a warlock survived my shoulder charge. But I can always use the peregrine grieves if I want to use that strategy.

1 ReplyI think that they're fine because of those "some people" that like using them. For example, I loved setting up traps with the trip mine and Young Ahamkara's Spine.

What bungie should do is make multiple armor pieces with the heavy ammo mod actually stack, even if its only 1 more rocket from the second piece. It would make my Armamentarium worth using again in PVE instead of ruin wings with its 1 decent mod and the rest of it being utter crap. Nothing "arguable" about Starfire Protocol. It is the best exotic to use as a sunlock when rolling radiance as wipe protection in PVE. It allows ignite/viking funeral to be spec'd while still having 2x of the best PVE grenade.
