I think a cool idea would be to present something along the lines of an "Adept Weapon Core" which would be an exotic consumable for using on your favorite non-burn primaries. Of course they would/should be super duper ultra rare so that the current elemental primaries are not de-vauled in anyway. I picture it functioning like Etheric Light but restricted to end-game loot tables with a very small chance of dropping. The burn could be left to RNG as well. Or, you could get the respective Arc, Solar, Void, Adept Weapon Cores in the loot table and just have them drop with an element already attached. Then if/when you do get one to drop you can "adept" your weapon the same way you would "ascend" it. Just imagine if you could have your favorite kinetic primary become an adept version of itself? I think it would be way cool. I play a lot of PvP and PvE, and I have to say the PvE meta gets just as if not more boring to use than the PvP meta. Also there are guns I love like Hawkmoon and TLW that will never see any PvE content because they don't have elemental damage. Don't get me wrong I love my Fatebringer, and my adept ToO weapons. However, I have others guns like my Low Down P-XIV, or my Ghelon's Demise that just end up collecting dust because they do not have any sort of elemental damage. I imagine it being like the Crux, like ultra hard to obtain so that if/when you do get one you have to think long and hard about which primary weapon to use it on. After you get one as a drop you could take it, along with your kinetic primary to the gunsmith and he would infuse the adept weapon core and then your kinetic primary now becomes an adept version of itself. It would be cool if you could use it on legendaries as well as exotics. Hell, even on current ones. I just want to re-iterate that I love the current elemental primaries and I wouldn't want them to be devalued even in the slightest. If this idea would ever be implemented I think it should be restricted to end-game hard mode only loot tables with a very small chance of dropping. That being said, just imagine if you knew you had a chance at making your favorite kinetic legendary or exotic primary have an elemental damage attached to it? I think it would add a great dynamic to the game as well as breath some new life into the current exotic primaries which almost never get used in PvE because there are no burns on them. What do you think?
