I personally think that she will, because in the Halo 5 trailer, (the one when chief is in a poncho) master chief is carrying an AI chip (possibly Cortana's). He walks up to a gaurdian, and I think he's trying to get the gaurdian to revive her. I don't want her to return, because that would mean her sacrifice in halo 4 would mean nothing. What are your guys' thoughts?

The sendoff in 4 seemed permanent, and I assumed it was so they could use her for the Siri app thing. But it's a company, so they can always just reverse the decision and explain it away. If they need a nostalgia boost to sell it, or if they decide cross-advertising is needed. Or because sometimes video game stories make no sense.

She's going to be appear as a sort of memory motivator I'm sure. Something similar to the kid in Mass Effect 3. But I'm a firm believer in if the character dies like that, you leave the character dead. The entire epilogue was showing how he was trying to cope without her. I don't want to see her back, simply because that wouldn't be right.
-
I have no doubt that she will return in some capacity. Though it won't be the same as what she was.
-
I'm worried she might be back in the same way she was in H3, which would be annoying as all hell.
-
I'd rather see her return as a hallucination for the Chief, not to be restored to life. Dr. Halsey is what is truly left of Cortana. If she dies, Cortana will too. Just a matter of thought.
-
Sure. Then they can beat 3 dead horses. Master Chief, Cortana, and the Halo Franchise.
-
It's too soon to being her back. I think Halo 5 will work up the suspense of finding Cortana. I think we'll finally get her back in Halo 6.
-
Well, duh. She's the second most important character in the franchise, of course she will.
-
Holla for idgaf
-
She literally just died -blam!-
-
No. Because I just installed her onto my laptop. Oh. And windows 10. Seems nice so far. Need time to get use to the small changes in the UI.

Edited by Nickel7Dime: 7/31/2015 4:27:55 AMI think she will be back in 6, 5 is the setup to finding a way to get her back in 6
-
No, she works for Microsoft now.
-
I have the strange feeling that chief is gonna find Halsey to try to get her to repair cortana but things are gonna go to shit
-
-
I really hope she doesn't come back. Halo 4's ending was incredibly emotional, and bringing her back might cheapen it. I hope the story's about Chief's acceptance of the loss of his friend, not his mission to save her. We already did that once.
-
I need you do look up Ready Up Lives breakdown of the new A Hero Reborn ViDoc
-
Just let character die, ffs. Breaking Bad would have been retarded if Walter White lived. And if you're mad I spoiled the ending: bitch you had, like, years to watch it.
-
Technically, she's not. But she is going to appear as kind of a ghost, I'm thinking like the ending cutscenes of the halo 3 mission, (the one before you rescue her from the grave mind)
-
Cortana will be presented as a kind of ghost in the campaign
-
Edited by Troy the Unggoy: 7/30/2015 9:44:10 PMCortana is not coming back, at least the one we know. Cortana herself even says this in halo 4. If they just deus ex machina and bring her back, her death will have meant nothing.

I think that it's entirely possible that Forerunner technology could revive her. Even though smart AI's do usually/always go rampant after 7 years. Forerunners had their own sort of smart AI's that they inserted into their armour just like the UNSC did Ancillas I think the Forerunners called them. So as it's likely the whole reason smart AI's were invented in the first place (due to gea's) that Forerunner technology could repair or recreate Cortana's chip without damaging her personality and memories. Cortana's sacrifice was sad but I am sure she may return in one form or another.

Its confiemed she will be appearing but only as mear dreams. As far aw everyone knows she is gone.

I hope ;-;
