Dark Souls challenge
So I'm thinking about doing some sort of challenge run in Dark Souls. I've only completed it once as I tend to delete a lot of the characters I start up.
I've not played it for a while so I'll probably be rusty but I'm thinking of running through on NG+ to get back into the pace of things. I always run with shields & strength builfs so my first 'challenge' is doing a shieldless Dex build to improve my dodging (in prep. for the actual challenge).
After that I'm thinking of doing a lvl 1 run. Been done plenty of times yes, but this is more about challenging myself than anything. I think I rely too much on shields so I'm curious to see how it'll turn out. If anyone has any other challenge ideas feel free to post em.

Use the shield you get from mixing the grass crest shield and moonlight butterfly soul as your weapon and shield. That's all you get for the rest of the game.

I'm doing the level 1 runthrough, any gear suggestions? I'm a pyromancer, managed to pick up the red tearstone ring and got the brigand set too, but no clue as to what weapon & gear to use :/

Take any of the starting characters, and you only get the things you pick up in the asylum (first visit). You can only pick up essential items the entire play through and must use the gear given to you at the beginning.
