Gjallarhorns Origin: The Story Chapter 2

Saint-14 was sitting on the ledge, feeling the cool wind blow to his back. His ghost materialized, but stayed silent. This wasn't normal behavior. Saint-14 asked his ghost why he had appeared. His was silent for a second more, then played this recording: " This is Commander Zavala. I am in need of all nonessential mission guardians to return to the tower immediately. We're are under attack. The Fallen have gathered. It may be too late. Come defend our home." Saint-14 looked his ghost in his eye, and said three words. "Get the Ship" Shin Malphur was riding his sparrow towards a surveillance point for Cayde, when the same transmission began playing through his helmet coms. Shin instantly brought his ship to the ground and was back in orbit and heading home within 30 seconds of the message. Thousands of other guardians received the distress call as well. They all came to Earth. To the travel. To home. To defend. Zavala and Shaxx drew defense plans on the central table. Ikora and Cadye equipped guardians with new powerful weapons and armor. Banshee-44 tuned every last cannon, rocket launcher, and primary in the tower in astonishing time. Ships were arriving by the hundreds. The tower was crowded, but nobody minded. They were all here for the same purpose. Out of no where, Zalava's voice rang through out the tower. He spoke and instructed guardians to get into groups of the perfect trio. One Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. Within minutes, everyone had a team. Zavala gave the strategy. Warlocks up front with their Nova Bombs, Titans in the middle for a fall back point, and Hunters for the long range engagements. Each team was assigned a number, and given field positions. Everyone was still preparing when it happened. The air hummed. The ground trembled and the tower fell silent. Saint-14 screamed "GET DOWN!" and it hit. A barrage of 36 shots from the main cannons of Fallen Walkers. It took a defense cannon out, started an avalanche, and the tower shifted. It shifted six feet left from having so many supports broken. Without anybody announcing, every single last guardian, as fast as they could, raced to their positions. The Battle of Twilight Gap had begun. I will put a link to chapter one in a bit. More will be coming. I hope you enjoy it, Guardians!
